San Francisco Rush is exactly what it says it is. Extreme Racing! Choose from 6 tracks including a secret track 7 on Alcatraz island if you're good enough. All tracks were designed from the real streets of San Francisco! The regular 6 tracks can be mirrored and reversed for a total of 24 track possibilities. Eight cars are available and other cars like a Hot-Rod and Taxi Cab can be earned by discovering secret locations and finding keys that are on every level. A practice mode allows you to discover the various tracks for 1000 seconds. This is very valuable because it allows you to discover keys and learn the complex tracks.<br>The element of cheating is one strategy that you need if you plan on winning. Taking side streets, jumping ramps, going through buildings, and driving on rooftops adds to the excitement and your chances of winning. As if the streets of San Francisco weren't already dangerous enough!

How can you review a game that is going on 13 years old now. It isn't something you can compare graphics or sound quality with stuff nowadays and well really we get jaded anyways so it just seems old and choppy to most. The only way I can really review this game is the look at it as when I was a kid and rented this game. It was a top of the line, fun game back then. You had a decent soundtrack with the basic midi files somewhat rocked up a bit so it would provide an edgier racing experience. Then you had multiple race tracks and if I am counting correctly 8 different cars to choose from and race. These things made this game fun but they weren't the winning ticket on this one. The spot that struck me as omg I have to rerent this game back when I was a kid, was that the cars ... How can you review a game that is going on 13 years old now. This was awesome at its time of release and well it was one of my main reasons for enjoying this game so much then. Other than that looking at it nowadays it is a fun, crazy, yet extremely simple game that spawned the ability for Rush 2049 to be released later. And I will always be thankful for that.

The RUSH series by Midway games (licensed by Atari corporation) was originally featured in the local arcade as stand-alone cabinets, its first official home console release was initially an exclusive Nintendo 64 cartridge, which made its debut in December of 1996. The first release was a highly successful arcade port, and spawned several sequential titles (RUSH The Rock:Alcatraz Edition, RUSH 2: Extreme Racing USA, and RUSH 2049) all of which were received well. Later releases were featured on PlayStation and PC. GRAPHICS RUSH was released at a prime development era in the mid 90s, and the polygonal graphics still hold up to representation 20 years later. Even with the Nintendo 64s hardware limitations, texture mapping on the vehicles and objects are still clean and add to the overall ... Simple characteristics such as sky and cloud reflection and tire marks are so subtle you would barely give notice by today's standards, but were a huge addition to visual gameplay at the time of its release. SOUND The audio effects and musical soundtracks on this game are a treat, and add even further style to the gaming experience. Making light of itself in some humorous aspects by certain key sound effects, the development team must have had a great time polishing this game. The music featured is very 90s and does its part to add adrenaline to the racing experience. Although the overall theme may be "extreme" (why were we so obsessed with that word in the 90s?) the musical tracks are still tolerable, however dated. GAMEPLAY RUSH is all about its core function. RACING. It plays very well on the Nintendo 64, and the game's physics engine works with nice response and feel. If you can track down a force-feedback steering wheel controller, the gameplay is comparably close to its arcade predecessor. Overall, RUSH offers a nice racing experience with highly customizable difficulty which ranges from entry level to seasoned racing veteran. On every course, there are multiple routes and shortcuts, hidden paths, and stunt areas to find. This adds a huge value of replay ability and really keeps you firing this cartridge up time and time again. San Francisco RUSH: Extreme Racing is a fantastic game, and a must-have title for your Nintendo 64 collection.

Hours of fun
Fun racing game. The stunt practice mode alone is worth the price of the game. Brings back great memories from 20 years ago.

Nintendo 64 Game
I had bought a nintendo 64 console with controls and I have always played certain games on it. I wanted to expand my game options, and that is when I saw this game. I watched this game being played on you tube and I liked how the game was when the player was playing it. That is why I bought it. I received it in the mail in a bubble wrap envelope. It looked used, and was a little faded, but it worked perfectly. Although from seeing the picture of what the item looked like, I was expecting a better clean case look, but I guess it doesn't matter when your playing the game.
