  • A Necessary End

Everybody seems to come down on the last episode of this overall fantastic series. Personally I don't mind it! I mean does everything have to come to a cataclysmic end? Is the life of a NJ crime boss not exciting enough we need more from their lives. As the fantastic Journey song that ends this series says "It just goes on, and on, and on..." The question is do we need it to? I mean Season 6 Part I was a pathetic grasp at keeping the series going. Did we really need more of that? Season 6 Part II tried to build up to some cataclysmic ending that adorns so much of North American entertainment and leaves you with reality. The lives of these people go on. By this point you have seen it all and it is safe to assume it just keeps on going. For this reason I love this ...

  • The Sopranos Season 6, Part 2 DVD Box Set

I purchased 'The Sopranos Season 6, Part 2 DVD Box Set' partly to complete my collection of the entire series on DVD. I enjoyed the last season, which included the somewhat controvercial 'last episode'......many having a big problem with the way it ended. I thought initially that it was a bit poor, but, upon further consideration, it actually fit in well with the series. Lots of things were 'left hanging' along the way. I thought overall it was a good half-season and greatly enjoyed it. It can't measure up to the first 2-3 seasons, but what series has not experienced the same thing. If you loved the series, as I did, I would definitely recommend purchasing this DVD set.

  • I was a little disappointed ...

I am a big Sopranos fan. My Sunday nights just haven't been the same since the Sopranos ended. I own all the other seasons sets and I felt compelled to complete the set even though I recorded all the episodes of the last season myself. I was really looking forward to the extras and the commentary from teh cast and particularly the writing staff. I just love when they give you the extra insight into the langauage, songs, bizarre references that I am not familiar with. It helps me to enjoy the brillance of the show that much more. This disk set only has commentary from only actors on the show. Robert Iler was particularly disappointing when he admits he doesn't really watch the show. (Then why comment?) He was not really "aware" of the plot lines that don't include him. He lends ...

  • Confusing ending

Left a few things hanging in the air such as What happened to Paulie? Also, are we to assume the final ending of the series as they ate dinner in the restaurant? Do we just put our own ending on it and come up with a scenario that we think fits? I would feel better about the series if the writers had come up with their own ending. Still, I consider this the best Non-Western Series that TV has ever seen. Lonesome Dove is still the Western leader. The language could have been toned down, but for realism, I would assume Gangsters really talk that way. I spent several years in the Marine Corps and I never heard normal conversation laced with so many provocative words. It was somewhat disheartening to watch AJ grow from a small boy at the beginning into a replica of his Father with his ...

  • It's finally over!

Well, for starters I am (or should I say WAS) a huge Sopranos fan...knew everything there was to know about the show, the characters, the relationships, the whole enchilada. But disapointment started setting in by the fifth season. The sixth season...blah. The first half was to me just plain stupid and the second half (the last nine episodes) answered no questions, finished no major stories and ended quite abruptly. Now I know, every one says "true Sopranos fans" should have understood the ending...don't get me wrong, I did. It left you hanging like most of the intertwined plots did throughout the whole series. But c'mon! All my years of devotion rewarded with that ending? All those unanswered questions? Tony NOT getting whacked? I had to buy this DVD set for ...
