"Kids will love its lighthearted, meticulously imagined, fun-without-a-moral fantasy. Tuesday is bound to take off." School Library Journal, Starred "A surreal, almost wordless picture book shows the mysterious levitation of lily pads and frogs from a pond one Tuesday at dusk. The frogs soar around town until they fall to the ground at sunrise. Large, detailed watercolors use dramatic points of view and lighting effects and often show a humorous range of expressions. There is a forecast of further surprises to come on following Tuesdays". -- Copyright © 1991 The Horn Book, Inc. All rights reserved. • Ribbit! A GREAT picture book for kids!

This is a fabulous, surreal picture books for kids of all ages. It it, one Tuesday evening a group of frogs begins floating out of the swamp on lily pads. They fly through clotheslines, float near a window next to a man eating a midnight snack, chase a dog through the streets, and watch some TV (after one frog changes Grandma's remote using his tongue). There are VERY few words in this book (just a few to indicate the passage of time), yet kids everywhere love to tell the story. Kids in younger elementary grades like to explain what's happening in each picture, and toddlers laugh at the silly frogs. I even use this book with my sixth grade writing class; I have the kids practice using transition words while writing what they see on the pages. Then we share the finished stories as I ...

  • Tuesday, a book for your young child's imagination.

This book had my 5 year old laughing out loud with full belly laughs. There isn't any text, except for the day and time on one or two pages. The illustrations are absolutely wonderful! As you turn each page the you can feel and see the movements and actions of the few silly characters. It is a great bedtime story book and trust me we read a ton of books and this one was a fun way to let your child interact and ask questions that we all get peppered with.

  • A Fantastical Tale of Flying Frogs

David Wiesner is such an imaginative storyteller and talented illustrator. This picture book depicts frogs traveling on lily pads through the air on a Tuesday evening. The frogs and settings are realistically drawn and their journey is a magical one. I recommend.
