A sports offshoot from Tecmo's successful fighting franchise, Xtreme Beach Volleyball features the seven women of Dead or Alive as they enjoy some sun and fun on a tropical island. Players have an opportunity to enter a volleyball tournament or explore various other activities while staying at the luxury resort. A movie theater is available to view trailers of Ninja Gaiden and previous games in the Dead or Alive series, while a casino includes themed versions of slots, blackjack, roulette, and poker. Players can also kick back and watch their character relax by the pool or engage in a hopping mini-game between volleyball contests. <br><br>An eighth character, Lisa, has been added to the roster and will be featured in later Dead or Alive fighting titles. Also available are over 100 swimsuits to collect and more than 50 accessories to wear. Players can purchase outfits and accessories for their favorite female, which may result in better team play during matches if the gift matches a character's preferences. Competitions are scheduled daily for a period of 14 days, referred to as a "vacation." Players can listen to 20 licensed songs or import their own music saved on the hard drive, and those having a Dead or Alive 3 file stored on their Xbox will be able to start with more money than the default $10,000.

Xtremely Amazing
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball actually wasn’t the first one in the series I played, after playing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 I become hooked with this series and bought this one and Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. It is a game with not much to think about but play volleyball and do poolside activities. Being the first in the series it does everything right. You start out by picking your girl and partner with another and go through your vacation on Zack Island. Volleyball of course is the main point of the game and surprisingly it does it very well in my opinion and it’s fun to pick up and play. I’m actually not a normal type of fan because I have no interest in the girls but I’ve always loved playing as female characters and each character has their own charm. It’s just a game a simple as ... Hottest Game ever!!
If you can past the fact that this game is a giant collection of guilt inducing fanservice, than it isn't too bad. It's not perfect, but is fairly a decent game nonetheless. Graphics Very sharp and clean. All the environments are well detailed and the Girls are as well. They stay clean even when watching cutscenes and playing volleyball. Sand is even is shuffled and moved when you play. Sound There are songs already on the soundtrack that you'll either love or hate, but it's nice that you can make custom soundtracks by loading music from the hard drive. Sound effects and voices are there, but the characters speak only in Japanese. This may annoy some, but there are subtitles. There are basically just two games, the pool hopping event, that just uses one button. Then there is the volleyball game itself. Controls are easy to use and responsive. Playing volleyball takes a bit of getting used to, but isn't too hard. In fact, you only have to play it once if you want. Since you can get through a vacation without even playing any games. There are MANY items to collect and get, which will require some work. Especially if you want to get the more revealing swimsuits, but it can get boring quickly for some. The game plays the same regardless of what girl you pick to use. OVERALL It may not appeal to some, but it still can provide some amusement. It's really up to the player if they want to spend lots of time to aquire most of what the game has, and if your looking for something deep or very engaging, then you'll probably want to look at something else. But if you need a quick game (or a little fanservice), than this should appeal to you.

Starting Out My DOA Collection Right
I just now started collecting the doa games and this game is a volleyball game with some gambling and a few other features. It also has a ton of unlockables such as swimsuits, volleyballs, accessories and videotapes containing commercials of the game, both Japanese and English. The game came in great condition.

Think "cotton candy"
Beautiful fluff. Playing this game, I can't imagine that Tecmo planned for DOAX Volleyball to be anything else. It does well as fluff - the girls are beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, the volleyball play is, well, definitely not the most serious gameplay you can find, which is also true about DOAX's side games - cushion-hopping and casino play. Ignore the soundtrack that comes with the game and use your own. Have fun and don't expect a huge amount from this installment in the DOA series.
