Co-written by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, and taking inspiration from the events and people in the writers' real lives, SEINFELD is one of the most loved TV comedies ever, a show "about nothing" that nonetheless managed to rack up a number of Emmies and a Peabody Award. Weaving together intricate plot lines and winks at the audience through various in-jokes, and with a cast of characters who are quirky, eccentric, and extremely likeable despite their tendency toward ironic detachment, most of the episodes--taking place primarily in Jerry's New York apartment--are centered on harebrained schemes and the characters' relationship problems. Jerry and his friends--Elaine, his outspoken ex-girlfriend, and George, a bald semi-loser who obsesses about virtually everything--discuss the intricacies of their relationships and analyze the most mundane realities of everyday life. They are frequently joined by Jerry's lanky, wacky next door neighbor, Kramer. This collection of the first two seasons includes the show's pilot ("Good News, Bad News"), and a great deal of hilarious early material and classic episodes such as "The Stock Tip," where Jerry and George's inside information leads to a series of hilarious asides, and "The Ex-Girlfriend," where Jerry's relationship is threatened when his girlfriend sees his standup act and decides it's just not her kind of humor.

    A Show About Nothing In Its Infancy

    Who would have believed that a show about nothing would someday become a classic to be ranked up there with shows such as "I Love Lucy," "Leave It To Beaver," or the "Brady Bunch." But that is exactly what Seinfeld has done. After nine wonderful seasons, Seinfeld became a contemporary classic whose reruns are still high in the rankings. In this DVD featuring Seasons 1 & 2, we are introduced to the three of the four single New Yorks that we come to know and love: Jerry, Kramer & George. Later in the Season, after producers decided they needed a female character, we are introduced to the fourth Seinfeld friend, Elaine. In these first two seasons, Jerry's apartment looks bare compared to later seasons. Kramer is bit more rough around the edges and George just hasn't quite got his "game" ...

    Seinfeld Season 1&2 (2004, DVD)

    They are hilarious. I didn't expect the first season or two to be as funny but they were funny from the very beginning. Jason Alexander really has the "George" character well. He is perfect from the beginning. Kramer and Elaine haven't quite "gotten into" their characters yet but they're still good and the shows are very enjoyable. There are about 4 episodes regarding sex but other than that they're mostly about humorous experiences in life. Some of these include a harmless remark about a pony that ends up upsetting an aunt & she dies (not because of that ........but they think it's the reason), a harmless remark about a busboy that costs him his job and how they try to make it up to him, a situation where Elaine is dating someone she can't stand and how it affects her, George leaves ...

    Seinfeld - Seasons 1 & 2 DVD

    "Seinfeld" has one of the best television casts ever assembled. The writing is witty and intelligent, although some of the content is not suitable for children. "Seinfeld" is great adult entertainment dished out in easy-to-digest 30 minute segments. Season 1 & 2 contain some classic episodes.

    Witness the birth of TV history

    Witness the birth of the most influential comedy since I Love Lucy. Sure, Season 1 is rough around the edges, sure the clothes and hair are a bit dated. But it is a must-have for all true fans of Seinfeld and TV fans alike. It is very interesting to see the genesis of the characters - for example see George as a semi-successful real estate agent before the writers doomed him to loser-dom. In season 2, the show really develops its wings. Episodes such as The Chinese Restaurant, and The Statue belong in the Pantheon of Seinfeld and Sitcom history. If you can find a human left on this earth who for some reason didn't get into Seinfeld, buy this right away and give them a gift to change their life.

    Comedic Perfection! Don't Miss This Incredible DVD!

    The Seinfeld DVD collection is the best selling TV series collection on the market for a good reason. It is simply the best TV series available on video. The characters: Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer are perfectly cast and perfectly played. The writing by Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, and company is fantastic. The topics are hilarious because they all hit so close to home with simple, everyday themes. The extra features are delightful. There are lots of behind the scenes looks, interviews, stand up extras, bloopers, deleted scenes, commentaries, and more. Don't by any means underestimate seasons 1 & 2 which are just as good if not better than any other season. It's lots of fun to see where and how the series began and watch it progress in the early days.
