A Great Compliation form a great artist
I'm a Chrsitian and I heard of Keith Green back in college and at first I was not that impressed with him even though I, too, play piano. A few year later, I bought one of his albums and saw him again new for the first time and though I was not that impressed with his piano playing (He, actually, is quite good), I was more impressed with his lyrics and ministry. About 3 albums later, I was hooked and a decided fan. Keith's music was always direct, forward and honest. He made an good effort to line up the musical style with the lyrics and did quite well. Just one listen to "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt?" will definitely give you a chuckle and 'Oh Lord, You're Beautiful" will definitely lead one towards a worship experience if you listen and get into the music. Keith Green was a versatile musician always utilizing several styles of playing -- rock, country, traditonal hymn styles, etc and so every album was a cornicopia -- something for everyone. This compliation album, put together after his death in 1984 (I believe) is a choice mix of his later projects up until his death and has many Keith standards in the collection. If you got this and the "The Ministry Years (1977 -1979, you have pretty much a versatile compliation of his best songs and a library of great teaching messages as well. Anyone looking to connect with the early years of Contemporary Christian Music should consider either of these albums a MUST HAVE for a full collection -- and don't forget Larry Norman, Phil Keaggy, or 2nd Chapter of Acts either. Great album, Great Artist, and Great tunes -- enjoy!

Keith Green The Ministry Years 1980-1982 CD
Keith Green was an awesome Christian singer, songwriter, but I think he considered himself a minister to people first. Keith tragically died along with 2 of his small children in an airplane crash in 1982. This 2 disc CD features songs from 1980-1982. Starting out on disc 1 with the upbeat You Are the One. Keith's rendition of The Lord is My Shepherd the 23rd Psalm is just inspiring to say the least. Disc 2 starts out with a rousing rendition of This is the Day like only Keith could sing it. Melody Green & Kelly Willard join him for I Want To Be More Like Jesus. Holy Holy Holy will touch your heart & Song for Josiah, his son that was lost with him on the airplane is quite touching in retrospect. Keith Green had a distinct voice & intense way he performed his music & I love how he pounded ... Great CDs. Awesome performer/song writer.
Keith Green's music is incredible. I love the variety of types of music he composes and how each song has a special message the Holy Spirit can use to edify us. I find Keith Green's music to be very encouraging to me, and also challenging. God really used this man in a powerful way.

A passionate collection from a prophet...
Keith Green's ministry - tragically cut short in 1982 - is shown in this collection for what it really was: an impassioned cry for the church to return to her first true Love; a wake-up call for uncommitted and lethargic people to respond to God's love. A must-have for anyone willing to be shaken from their "sleep in the light" or their Godless life in the dark.
