Rose Tyler Has Grown Up
While not one to resort to text speak -- OMG! (Put a little valley in their, too, if you wish.) For those of you who blew off Billie Piper as a pop star wannabe when she was cast as Rose Tyler in the revamped Doctor Who and maybe even blew off her success in that role to who she had to act against, think again. Billie Piper not only shows she can act but that she is intelligent as well. After all, you can't pull off smart, sexy, high priced hooker and not be intelligent? The show itself has all the ear marks of a Showtime "Original". (Let's face it, it was bought from the British market already made.) Sex,humor, and minimal production cost, all the things we look for from Showtime. Ms. Piper gives an erotic, humorous performance, while making as care about ... a prostitute. Not ... Not that easy for this much maligned profession. The importance is the humor, which takes place mainly while she's working. The drama in this show only comes in when Belle/Hannah has to deal with her personal life outside of her chose profession. The old addage "You can run but you can't hide" comes to mind at these points. Ms. Piper holds her own very well in this duel role, while being able to show the melencholy and disconnect that occurs in having a lifestyle that requires such a sacrifice. If society could accept sex and people in her profession, would she be forced to make this choice? Each episode is kept to 22 minutes and the season is only 8 episodes long, thus allowing a person to watch a season in an evenings time. This way you can get the build up of the drama, while being able to see the light hearted comic intentions of the show itself. Also, may I suggest, sharing it with your significant other over a bottle of wine and candle light?

I bought Secret Diary of a Call Girl Season 1 and 2. Both have great actresses and actors. Such as the main character Billy Piper. She was on doctor who as rose in season 1 and 2. The scripts are funny, there is sex in it. I found it too be nn addictive tv show. I watched season one as soon as it came it. The episodes are twenty-two minutes. The ideas are fresh with beautiful shots of London. This tv show is about a London call girl, her life, friends and her clients. And how she juggles the three. It is an interesting tale of struggles, and life that happens be a call girl. Secret Diary of a Call Girl
Billie Piper is a superb actress. She brings a vivacity and genuineness to this role, and she really makes you feel involved when she's talking directly to the camera. I can't see how they could make this series any better. Now if they could just bring out season 2 on DVD it would be great!

Must Have Item!
If you love British t.v. and enjoy an excellently written show then this series is a must for you. The star is Billie Piper, Dr. Who Fans can cheer here, and she plays the part of Belle wonderfully. Piper stands out with her ability to drive home a mature role for mature audiences.

Great dvd series plan to buy the entire collection now!
Dvd was great! Love the series from showtime and would like to purchase the entire 3 and 4 series. Its very heart-wrenching and funny! I recommend for those that get a kick out of life!
