You need to get used to the controls...
This game is awesome. As we know this is a remake of Rayman 2 the Great Escape which was put out for PS1, N64, and the Dreamcast. This game is best on the Dreamcast, but is very nice on the DS. The game is virtually the same with PS1 graphics. The controls is what I think make the people that hate this game hate it. You use a analog on the touch screen, which takes a while to get used too, I just use my thumb and found that if you keep your thumb around the stick it works well. I will say that I played Rayman on my wife's DS lite and it seemed a little hard to control (I had to press a little harder than I'd like too). But on my DS I have a Clarivue screen protector on the touch screen, which actually helps make the touch pad more sensitive. For some reason on my DS lite the game ... This game is awesome. GAMEPLAY - 9/10 The game is a whole lot of fun. The levels are all different, and at a good difficulty level - hard enough that you won't beat them the first time, yet easy enough that they won't make you too frustrated. The story is also interesting - pirates invade Rayman's world, and he has to defeat them to save his friends and regain his powers. Sounds kinda boring, right? Wrong. The pirates are robot pirates, which probably sounds really weird, but it's actually quite funny once you see them. There is only one major flaw with the gameplay - you cannot save your game during a level, which can be quite lengthy. Luckily, if you need to do something during a level, you can simply put your DS is sleep mode, but it is still quite annoying. GRAPHICS - 9/10 For a DS game, the graphics are ... However, it doesn't really affect the gameplay that much as the game is usually slow-paced. SOUND - 10/10 I just love the sound on this game. The music is great and matches with what's going on in the game. I also love the way the characters talk - they don't speak any language, but make sounds that are similar to speech that sound really funny to me, especially Rayman's LONGEVITY - 10/10 This game will last you a long time - it takes me about half an hour to get 1.5% through the game. [But remember, I'm new to Rayman so you might go through it a little faster.] And it's always fun to play a good game over again (: BOTTOM LINE - 9/10 This game is awesome; it's even able to compete with Super Mario 64 DS in my opinion. The next time you go to buy a DS game, make it this one. There are some flaws, but the game is still great.

Rayman (Nintendo DS) It Rocks!
This game is so cool. I love the 3D graphics. It doesn't get boring moving from level to level, because there are new challenges, to go along with things that you have already mastered. Sometimes two or three things are all happening at once. The level saves are great, and if you didn't get something to move onto another level, you go back a level or two and look for it, so you can progress. It is fun for kids just to play, and it will keep an adult busy trying to beat it as well. This game exceeded my expectations in design and challenges. It is one to keep in your game library to pick up and play again and again. Help Rayman save his race from Pirates!This game is so cool. I love the 3D graphics. Fun For Hours!
I purchased this game for my daughter to play on her new DS, since the OEM game that came with it was METROID,(not really a little girls cup of tea). She has played it constantly since it arrived and occasionally asked me what to do at certain points where she has trouble getting to the next level. She doesn't ask as much any more because she doesn't get to play it again for hours, sometimes the rest of the day... GREAT FUN for the WHOLE family! Great graphics and gameplay. Goes to Show that HANDHELD GAMES have come a LONG way!
This game makes Nintendo DS seem more and more like a full-fledged tv console gaming system. The clarity, use of controls, and excellent 3-D world quality is amazing. Forget the same old type of games playing with just a profile view- now you have a game that really "pops" out!
