The Garmin nuvi 40 GPS receiver is a powerful automotive navigation device with a variety of helpful tools and features to get drivers where they need to go. The 4.3-inch (109.2-mm) touchscreen with bright 480x272-pixel resolution displays graphics with vivid colors. With this Garmin nuvi unit, drivers can find addresses and directions to more than 5 million points of interest and explore the real locations of photos geotagged by other Garmin users. The Garmin nuvi 40 provides 3D map views with turn-by-turn navigation and spoken street names to keep drivers on the right path. The lane assist function guides the driver to the correct lane for an upcoming turn or exit to limit distractions, while speed limit notifications help keep the driver safe and legal on most European and US roads. Users can get started with the Garmin nuvi GPS receiver straight out of the box with preloaded maps, but they can also save up to 1,000 waypoints and favourite locations as they discover new and interesting places. The Garmin nuvi 40 is 3.1 inches (78.7 mm) high, 4.9 inches (124.5 mm) wide, and 0.7 inches (17.8 mm) thick, making it suitable for dash-mounting without visual interference.

    A great bit of kit for a very good price

    I have been using this sat nav for about a month now and find I does everything I ask it to. It has a clear screen and is very easy to set up. It can be set either by Postcode or address, and can also be set to audio telling you when to turn, it can even be set to tell you what road you are turning onto and the road you are travelling on. If you want it for Europe then the maps can be updated for that purpose.

    Simple, accurate, clear screen, money very well spent

    Using this item on our Oz trip and thus far is working very very well, much better investment than the $200 the car hire company wanted for their unit and better value than purchasing the very expensive Tomtom maps. Simple to use, clear screen, ozzy accent and works really well, what more could we ask for.

    Very Good

    Slim, and easy to use, also right price. Cleay voice messages, and names streets. I also liked the coloured road markings.

    Top of the range, great value for the money

    Great little device.One problem I had it did not work. but now hopefully it will. Mine works well and as it should do. The one I bought for my brother is the one with the problem. It is now being sorted so hopefully no more problems. I would recommend this sat-nav to any one who is looking to buy. Price wise, beats all the others into a second place.
