Slow start, but great finish --- and you gotta love Monroe!
I love Grimm --- but based on Season 1 alone, I had to take off one star. For the first half of Season 1, the show doesn't know whether it wants to be a police drama or BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. It tries to give equal time to each, with less-than-perfect results for the first few episodes. The hero, Nick, is handsome --- and that pretty much describes him completely. He breaks many rules of police work, such as entering a suspect's home without backup or a warrant, which could be excused given his ability to see that these suspects are really supernatural creatures...not something he could easily explain to his co-workers. But what's his partner Hank's excuse? Hank is not a Grimm, does not know Nick is a Grimm, and yet also does whatever he wants on the job. The most interesting ... It gets better! Once they decide to focus more on the Grimm angle, develop Nick's personality more, show more Monroe, and add a bit of humor, I was hooked. Any fan of BUFFY or ANGEL will love GRIMM once you get past the rocky beginning.

Very interesting, high quality w/o the commercials to break story line
I live in Portland where this is filmed. I also run a tour company GrimmAdventure dot com that takes you around to different hot sets shown in Grimm. This is a great way for me to find the most important places to show you. GrimmAdventure dot com For example, Season One Ep one where Nick lives and the fight broke out. I'll take you there. Multnomah Falls where the lonely guy monster tries to take his next victim. I'll take you right where all the actors stood and did their performances plus I'll take a picture of you there to prove to your friends back home that GrimmAdventure dot com YOU WERE THERE.I live in Portland where this is filmed. Humor and Horror, delightfully wrapped up into one truly AMAZING series!
My girlfriend and I are "addicted" to this very intriguing, and at times, totally creepy, often gruesome, even horrifying, but well-made series, with exceptional acting, fascinating special effects, very interesting story lines, and even "black HUMOR," on occasion! It's rare that a television series keeps me asking for more, to the point where I can't wait to watch the next episode! The only thing that comes close for either one of us is "The Walking Dead," which is another fine series, but "Grimm" is even better, IMHO. Go for it! You won't go wrong. Trust me! Totally different type of police show.
This is nothing like anything I've seen before and I love it. The characters and story lines are excellent and the way everyone is entwined in this show is beyond entertaining. Excellent entertainment!!!!!!! Can't wait to get the next season.

Grimm season 1
