great story
I have a copy of the video of this story but I always wanted to read the book. I finally ordered it and read it while on a trip to Kauai. I am not much of a reader, I get bored quickly, but I just couldn't put this book down. Really great stories by a great author. Even though the movie is a wonderful story the book doesn't detract from that and adds a different slant. Great Find!
Stories based on actual events are often best stories. I grew with my mama telling her stories from the Great Depression & living on the banks of mighty Yadkin River in NC .So glad EBAY had this book-great find!

Strong writing
"A River Runs Through It" is an interesting allegory about family life & relationships during a more gracious time. It is well worth reading & taking your time as you read. There is some depth in the book that is worth savoring.
