Product Information

The friendship between two teens is put to the test when they run away together on an ill-fated adventure in this independent drama. Lily (Juno Temple) and Alison (Kay Panabaker) are two close friends growing up in a dead-end community near the Salton Sea. Both girls are 15 years old, and Lily is already desperate to pull up stakes and move on to somewhere more exciting. Alison, on the other hand, is content in her hometown and isn't eager to accept the responsibilities of adulthood just yet. But she wants to support her best friend, and when Lily steals her stepfather's truck and announces she's headed for Los Angeles, Alison impulsively agrees to tag along. The girls soon fall in with a gang of scruffy skate punks; Lily becomes infatuated with one of the guys, who barely acknowledges she's around, while Alison becomes increasingly convinced they're bad news, especially when they try to lure the girls into a potentially dangerous scheme to make money. LITTLE BIRDS was an official selection at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

    ADOLESCENCE CAN BE TUFF!

    This movie was a little depressing but well done.I don't have any kids so I can only imagine being a parent in this life, especially teen daughters. I love indie films so I must say the characters were engaging. The movie was not a great film by no means but considering the budget used and the very good performances, I would definitely recommend this film.

    Enjoyable movie about life.

    Always loved Juno Temple. She looks so young in all of her movies. Loved Kay Panabaker and the rest of the actors in the movie, they were great to.

    Great movie

    Great movie. Made me feel bad for young youth growing up in this world today. Makes me sad. I am so glad i did not have daughters. They fall into a mans game and are not taught to fight for what is right. I am praying for our girls growing up in this world today.

    Little Birds (DVD, 2013)

    I feel the plot and characters were interesting and had depth. It was an interesting perspective on the very difficult age girls go through as well as the decisions and impulses that get acted upon. My biggest issue with the movie was that there could have been a whole lot more family back story and interaction because it seemed the set up for interesting situations was there, but the plot did.

    Lost and looking for meaning.

    Adolescence is a search for identity. Some in their search will choose the most difficult rights of passage. A well done, sensitive character study of contemporary times.
