Shipping from Alaska to Utah and having not a single cracker be broken is a testament to how well these were packaged. I would recommend to anyone!

Great for backpacking, these crackers are rugged and wont break and crumble. They are good with peanut butter (powdered) for lunch and go good with dehydrated meals like beef stew. Not something you would snack on at home, but great for a long backpacking trip. Very well packed and arrived in very good shape - Thanks!

    Tried the Legendary Alaskan Staple

    Roughly 3 times the size of a Ritz cracker, about twice as thick. Tastes like a unsalted cracker, perhaps slightly toastier. Sturdy, yet brittle enough to bite into like a normal cracker. Easy eating - this is NOT hardtack! Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a large, edible, surface area for toppings and the strength to hold it up. Got it to investigate its potential for emergency/backpacking purposes. It has almost a cult following, with Alaskans, apparently, being the biggest. On the theory that Alaskans know something about living in an environment which can be harsh, that's a pretty good endorsement I'd say.

    Ummmm, Good Cracker

    Very good product and happy with the purchase. The only downside is broken crackers when it's sent but most of the crackers arrived intact with only one likely crushed, two broken in half, and few more with chipped edges. Overall all I was very pleased. These are dense crackers that reminded me of the old style MRE crackers from over 30 years ago. I vacuum packed some in pairs for hiking and they held up perfectly during the process of having the air sucked out of the package. I understand Alaska gets 98 percent of the crackers baked. It's too bad the company doesn't sell these across the lower 48, I believe it would be popular.

    Spendy indulgence, but worth it

    I loved these as a kid. I've been looking in my local stores, and they are no longer carried locally. I'll buy them now and again. No nutritional value to speak of, but they are the perfect platform for whatever spread or cheese you have handy. Enjoyed them greatly.

    Save me, eat me

    IBC pilot bread is a fantastic product. It is made similar to hard tack rather than crackers. It keeps for years, tastes good, and lends itself to use with people Artie's, dinners, outdoors even survival situations. I try to keep a 5 gallon bucket full of them.
