Chuck falls in love with Alba's character and has to try and break the curse to keep her.Movie has strong sexual content, so not for young kids.Comedy starring Dane Cook and Jessica Alba in her first comedic role. Laughable Movie - Both in The Good and The Bad Senses
As expected, this movie has the usual romantic comedy formula: idiotic storyline and predictable ending. Those who expect to see a wisely written and surprising finale on a genre like this know they are wasting their time. "Good Luck Chuck" has created mixed emotions among the audience. This can be seen by the reviews already posted in here. Some people, with a fair amount of reason, tend to link the excess of nudity and dirty jokes with lack of good ideas for the plot. I really don't have a problem with unrated scenes, but I feel bad for those who have. For those people, there is always a "clean" option to choose from, but what's the point in always creating two versions of a same film when only one, with good taste scenes only, can please all audiences? ... By the example of "Good Luck Chuck" and many other sex-oriented comedy movies, this seems to be the norm. With some creativity in the head, you can always be dirty and instigating without being almost obscene. So when I say this movie is laughable in the good sense, I mean there are some jokes and situations that will really make you give a genuine laugh (that's what comedy movies are made for, right?) and just because of that you should watch it at least for once. Laughable in the bad sense means that every effort to make this movie convincing for the storyline and that adding a lot of short sex and nudity passages would fill the gap of a poor plot is just ridiculous. But like I said above, this wasn't really the intention.

Would have been a success at PG-13, However.
I was just taking a little time to watch a romantic comedy (which I don't do often) and got very embarrassed and disappointed with the direction this film took. This rated - R version was very completely way over the top of anything appropriate to Filmdom that I really couldn't see the point to make such a raunchy and sick film for anyone to watch. The soundtrack was excellent. The first segment of the film was way to inappropriate for anyone that I know. I'd rather be pulling splinters out of my toes than watching this film play out. Many of the scenes were extremely funny and romantic, but after you watch the film play out, you find that this guy and his friend was really too disfunctional to believe. That's probably why Jessica Alba's character Cam began ... If you want to watch a comedy, watch a comedy. If you want to watch a romance, watch a romance. "In my book", both items sometimes work, but this time, it made me very uncomfortable to watch this guy try and exhaust all his possibilities of success by trying to break his curse by sleeping with a total stranger who didn't even meet his requirements, which, by the way, continued to happen all throughout the film. While Kam (Jessica Alba) seemed to be a top-notch match for him, he just didn't believe that he could make a dent in love, since he thought that he was GOD's gift to women. On the other hand, Kam was not a true believer in love, especially the kind that supposedly he stood for. This film was good entertainment to say the least, but the total premise for the movie soon weighs heavily on anyone with any morals and only relinquishes our values to the point where we don't know between right and wrong. I'll stand on my own values this time, however, I wouldn't really promise a good feeling about this film to anyone, and can't see how anyone could possibly relate to this film with such a sleazy and raunchy slant. Again, the comedy was funny as well as the true convictions that Dane Cook wished he had. It was the tone of the film that I wished would be better. If they could remake this film at least at a level of PG-13, it would have been much better in the long run. I'm going to give this film a below average rating of 2/5. Sorry. It wasn't something I'd ever have watched to completion, and I probably wouldn't at all, except for the fact that I wanted to do this review. Arguably speaking, if it was the last movie made in the world, I totally wouldn't be surprised. However, spending that much time and money on a film, you would at least think that there would be a few redeeming qualities to remember about the film that can stick to your ribs, but this one doesn't do it for me. Instead of getting the girl he wants he ends up with the "gothic" girl for a round in the closet. She attacks young Chuck until he is begging for mercy and he escapes the closet. While he is on the floor of the house she puts a hex on him for all time that he will never be happy even though he is surrounded be love. Not only that but the next guy that dates his ex girlfriends will end up marrying them as well. So Chuck is in a fix his whole life until he meets Jessica Alba which is his "special" girl, "The One".
