Interesting but light
An interesting look at a man who changed the issues for the Americas and is still revered in many Central and South American countries. That from a recent trip to Central America and not the book. The book is a journal of Che's 1952 trip around South America with his friend Alberto Granado. It's a fairly light look at the trip, lacking the insight found in Granado's book, Traveling With Che Guevara. Granado's book provides more insight into the young Che that this book, but this book gives more of Che's personal take on the trip. Read both and you get a good impression of a young man who cons, cajoles and lies his way around South America with the goal of not spending any money on food, lodging or anything. It's definitely not a motorcycle book, ... An interesting look at a man who changed the issues for the Americas and is still revered in many Central and South American countries. It's definitely not a motorcycle book, although the bike plays an important roll until it dies less than half way through the journey. It's a travelog with the impressions of a young man seeing poverty, disease and class subjugaton. You won't find the spark that ignited the revolutionary, but you will find his observations.

AWESOME
What a wonderful book, but then again I love anything about Che. And the book Traveling with Che by Alberto Granada is also very good and funny.
