    "Foundation" is ,or should be, required reading for every student as should "1984"

    read this in my youth; 55 years ago, it's as good today as then. Much of Sy-Fy today owes it's basis to this series, as readers will recognize things here from later books... Even "?Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and "Star Wars". Issac Asimov was as forward thinking as "Hari Seldon" Our leaders today could learn a great deal from these stories !

    Scifi must read

    This is indeed a classic for lovers of science fiction. It is the quintessential piece of scifi future literature, and presents a somewhat bleak image of the future of our existence as we spread across the universe several millennia from now. Foundation tells the story of humanity's last chance of reclaiming thought from eons of intellectual lethargy. As human existence struggles to maintain relics of the past in a universe rife with power hungry monarchs and imperialists vying to control what chunks of the fallen Empire they can acquire, two groups of individuals seek to not only preserve our past but also to ensure our future by reintroducing humanity to its ability to learn.
