  • An apology after 30 years

Another Baseball book by Grisham. Joe is a fictional character that comes alive in this book. I enjoyed how Grisham tied things togheter, with his ex minor ball player dad, who, by the way, won't be winning any Father of the Year awards, and one of his baseball heros, Joe. Although the ending is predictable, with his dad, who ended Joe's baseball career, meeting up with Joe while on his death bed, to say he is sorry, 30 years later. This book is a super fast read, and although you know where its going, it's still a fun read getting there.

  • Great read for baseball lovers and a wonderful message in the story!

One of the best books I've read in many years! Its an easy read with a great lesson about life!

  • Baseball and forgiveness, what is not to like about this book?

For fans of John Grisham, baseball and just a well written book, this is a 5 star winner. I particularly loved the depiction of America in those times not rife with the problems of today. It took me back to a childhood in which America was still a country in which one could believe in. It also hit on all cylinders as a story of forgiveness, no matter the manner or time frame in which it is given. Thank you John for a really great, feel good book.

  • A BASEBALL STORY ABOUT LIFE

Immediately, Calico Joe took me back to the summers of the 1970's, the summers of youth. Without a care in the world, all we would worry about was our own little league baseball team, our beloved White Sox, and girls. This story took me back to being a kid and I loved every page. I read this book out on the back porch after supper every night one week of late summer, September, 2012. My son is young, loves baseball, and he'll read this some years from now. My only complaint was that the book was not longer, or I read it too fast, it was superb. "IT IS A PAGE-TURNER."

  • Calico Joe

Great author, I have acquired all of his books, love his style of writing.
