We sold brand new product with full manufacturer warranty and have tested before it left our facility to make sure it is good. Our policy is "no return". Customer tried to return the product as not functioning (maybe his old battery?) and got upset that we didn't accept the return. How fair it that? Beware of that type of buyers. We've learned our lesson.

When you are a performer, clear sound is everything. It can make or break your performance. With the right tools, though, you can be successful. In this area, there is usually one catch-all microphone: the Shure SM58. I've used one. If you're a performer, you've probably used one. These mics are seemingly the "industry-standard" of sorts. Let me tell you a thing or two about the SM58. It's a durable mic. You can drop it from a distance, and it will still keep working. There are tests that Shure has done that completely submerged the SM58 in a bowl of freezing water, and it still worked afterward. The sound quality of the SM58, however, leaves much to be desired. It's muddy-sounding and requires a lot of EQing to sound the right way. It's overly-honky in the midrange, so if ... When you are a performer, clear sound is everything. And if you've seen the awards shows on TV lately--the ACM's and CMA's, to be specific--you'll notice the performers that are using SM58's have the worst sound, but they aren't necessarily the worst performers or singers. No joke. Did anyone see Brooks and Dunn's performance? The SM58 literally ruined their farewell performance. Then there's the Sennheiser e835. This microphone is great. In terms of durability and price-point, the e835 and SM58 are right on par with each other. If we're talking about sound, the e835 blows the SM58 out of the water. The frequency response of the e835 is 40Hz-16kHz, while the frequency response of the Shure SM58 is 50-15kHz. If you're not keen on what these numbers mean, here's the plain English version: the Sennheiser has crisper highs and deeper lows than the SM58, which means it will cut through the mix a whole lot better. I've also used the e835 in front of some hot monitors without getting any feedback. Have I A/B'd the e835 since I received it? Yes. I also own more Shure microphones: a Cetec Vega R42 with an SM85 capsule, a wired Beta 58A, a Unidyne II 565D (the mic used on the stage at Woodstock), and a Cetec Vega R662 with a Beta 87C capsule. To my ear, the e835 beat the Beta 58 by a long shot. I can run the e835 flat all the way across the EQ spectrum, but the Beta 58 requires EQing on the low-end for a fuller sound. The Unidyne III 565D is basically the classic version of the SM58. Mine was made in the '70s before Shure moved to Mexico, so it's much better-sounding than the modern-day SM58. The e835 still beat the 565D in terms of clarity and cutting through the mix, as the 565D also requires EQing to cut through the mix. The only two mics where I would not say the e835 is better are the SM85 (the '80s version of the SM87) and the Beta 87C. Those two mics are high-quality condensers, while the e835 is a cardioid dynamic. Condenser mics will beat a cardioid dynamic any day, but the e835 does come close in terms of clarity. Either way, I would highly recommend buying an e835 if you're looking for a good live mic. These mics are even versatile enough to be used in the home studio if you have a pop filter to go with it. If you're planning on buying a microphone for vocals or instruments, you definitely need to pick the e835. You won't be sorry, and your audience will come to respect how well they can hear you!

I can,t say enough about this mic compared to a 57 or 58 shure .with a 10 year guarantee it is obviously as rugged and the screen is much more resistant to denting for obvious reasons it is made with a rounded pattern much stronger the metal housing is as thick or thicker you could throw this across a room and it would work one i bought is highly used and no difference in sound quality. But what matters most is sound quality ,this mic is much more resistant to feedback than a beta 58a though it is cardiod and the beta is supercardiod ,makes me wonder how resistant the e845 (supercardiod ) is , though you can,t tell everything from a data sheet it is wise to start there as you can loose your reference by eqing these mic,s have the smoothest frequency pattern imaginable lacking the high end ... AS the proximity effect technology is vastly superior to the 57 or 58 beta this means your lows are richer and far more precise, because this mic is hotter there is a small increase in handling noise but only a small amount, the only place the shures have it licked, far more intelligible and crisp much more realistic and precise but this also makes it more unforgiving some people use the muddy proximity effect of the 57 and 58 to mask their poor vocal quality, probably making them more popular than they deserve. i just can,t believe the quality and sound now i must try a 935 which is supposed to be the beta,s competitor as the 835 blows the beta away i can only imagine. price well in my opinion if a 58 costs $119 these should cost $150 at least an unreal deal. my harmonica man put a blows me away volume control on one of these at first he was skeptical because all his mistakes came jumping out but it is quickly improving his playing versus a bullet which is the most overrated harp mic anyhow just a one trick pony, many as jason ricci prefer a 57 but you must realise that you eq the crappy high end of a 57 off on a harp anyhow and the 57 has a small size for good hand effect playing,but the e835 sounds so much better on the bottom end where a harmonica needs help the most.

Christmas gift for my husband the Conductor
My husband is a conductor of the state Community Choral and he has been looking at microphones for use by choir members doing solos in performances. I got a number of ideas and brand names from him and found this Microphone. He was totally delighted when he opened this gift!!! He says it will help give the audiences a clear, crisp sound in our concerts!!!

Great microphone for price
This is the 2nd one I’ve purchased for another backup and it’s a great value and sound quality for practicing and stage use. My son uses it to sing professionally for his gigs. You don’t need anything more expensive for a hand-held mic.

Crisp and clear sound
Tried both Shure SM58 and the Sennheiser E835 and “clearly” this one is the winner. I have the Inspire Turbosound tower stereo system and the E835 sound was very crisp. Also sounds more powerful than Shure! Its the winner for my requirements.
