    Great Features and Coverage - Great Value

    I bought this router used to replace a new but cheaper device that couldn't even provide coverage in our 1800 s.f. house. This one does it all and more with more features than I'll ever use or appreciate for that matter. The only reason that it isn't rated 5 stars is because it was kind of tricky to set up, perhaps because it was previously installed. I had trouble getting the password to the software configuration reset. Finally found the obscure reset button on the bottom that set everything back to default settings. Maybe if I had the original installation disk and documentation it would have been easier. Working great now with 8 -10 devices. I'd say it's a great value even if you have to pay list price.

    My Net N900 HD Dual Band Router

    I have used several of these (N600, N750) and now the N900. Western Digital equipment has been very reliable for me and is very easy to setup. Changing administrative password and wifi passwords is a snap. The wifi range is excellent. I have the N900 in the basement and have great coverage on the main floor and very good on the upstairs floors. I would recommend the N900 if you want 450mb (max) up and down speeds.

    Someone should tell WD, when you make a great product, stand behind it!

    I needed to update my network equipment and I did a lot or research before buying the Western Digital My Net N900 Wireless Router. My network is a combination of both my home and my business, so I needed dual band router with lots of land lines. For the most part, it has worked out great. However, even though the router has the Netgear’s name, its software is not compatible with other Netgear products, not a big deal. I was unhappy to find out Western Digital only offers 30 days of phone support. Refusing to provide product support is the main reason I will never again buy Linksys. As it stands now, this is the last Western Digital product I will buy. If a company won’t stand behind the products they sell, why should I?

    Best "N" Router I have tried many

    So I set out to find the best wireless N Router. Yes I know AC is here, but all my laptop's have N, why fight it especially for the cost. I tried the Cisco EA4500 (close 2nd), DLink, Bellin, netgear, trendnet, even tenda, all N900 speed. Besides the ASUS RT-66U which I omitted because it's 3 times more expensive, the WD N900 was best. They all were pretty much the same for throughput/range on 2.4GHz, but on 5GHz the WD had better range and throughput than the rest. I was testing in real world. My wife's laptop which is on our 2nd story and transferring to our wired HTPC. The WD gave us the most signal and best speed going through a floor and 2 walls on the 5GHz band. This one is worth the $$ until AC comes down.

    Unique 7 port router with gigabit in-out speed and slow NAS

    Wifi range is Ok to mediocre, network wired speed is very good, but NAS storage is only USB 2.0 and access to 4TB external hard drive is comparable to your USB stick, which is about 5 times slower than any SATA hard drive today - Enough to watch 1080 video but copying files to NAS takes forever and often return errors when copy multiple large files. Hard drive tested with router was 4TB seagate SATA. HDD seems to be in sleep mode when not in use with router, which is good and bad at the same time becasue its spins up and down by router , uncontrollable by user
