You won't get bored with it after one week
Easy to use, just jot down the highlights/memorable moments of your day. I don't know how well the actual book will hold up in 5 years, the binding on mine is already showing minor breakdown after 1 month of continual use but it will get the job done (-1 star). On my own I can't even remember what I did last week but with the One Line A Day book its easy and fun to keep track of what I did each day and look back on it.Easy to use, just jot down the highlights/memorable moments of your day. Good idea
Good idea, requires self-discipline for use. Purchased for 2 teenaged granddaughters, thinking will be many changes in their lives during the next 5 years. My husband has Alzheimer's so many changes in my life for the next 5 years. Just have to be consistent in writing in it.

Lovely time capsule. Won't bore you after 3 days
One Line a Day is very simple- you simply write one line a day! Of course, if you have tinier handwriting, you'll be able to fit a couple of sentences. The journal has a page for every day of the year, and 5 spaces on each page for each day. At the beginning of each space is "20__", in which you fill in the last two digits of the year you are at. You can start this book at any day of the year at any year, though if you start in the middle of the year, you'll start in the middle of the book. That's not too much of a problem though, since you can salvage the lost space by using it once you finish your 5th year if you'd like, because you can write in the year. I bought this journal because although I've always wanted to keep a journal, I could never seem to do it. This journal is perfect ... One Line a Day is very simple- you simply write one line a day! It makes you actually want to write in it because its format is so appealing. Writing a full page in a diary doesn't seem so long at first, but eventually it gets exhausting to write your entire day by hand on paper. This journal only gives you a small amount in which to write what really matters and what you really want to remember from your day. It's fast and doesn't take more than 2 minutes, unlike a normal journal. The quality is really great. It is small, just about the size of your hand if you stretch out your fingers and measure from the wrist to the tip of your longest finger. It is quite thick however. Probably about the length of half your thumb, maybe a bit more. It feels substantial and the exterior is just the tiniest bit cushioned with a little bit of texture, but it is still smooth. The edges of pages are painted with gold foil like the text on the cover and side, and the bookmark is lovely and very helpful. I keep it on the next day, so when I open it my page is already there. The binding is quite sturdy. Pages will not fall out and nothing will become unglued. One of the biggest pros that I rarely see talked about on reviews is the fact that there isn't a big copyright sign and information and barcode or whatever on the back. It's all on a sticker which is very easy to remove and doesn't leave icky residue. It makes the journal look a lot more authentic and pretty, unlike cheaper journals with all of that stuff printed on. I'll admit that the look of the journal is a bit more to the feminine side. That is the only con. It is a bit too dainty for a man to use without feeling a bit embarrassed. A man could use this, but if you're buying this as a gift for a male and you're not too sure, I'd be safe and not buy it. So to sum this all up, if you're looking for a journal to actually use and not give up on after a week, I definitely recommend this! It is a lovely time capsule and the price is totally worth it since it lasts 5 years. Give it a try!

Nice and compact
This diary is just the size and format I wanted. I enjoy being able to look up at what was happening last year when I jot my few lines each evening. It looks to be well enough made to last through five years' worth of handling.

An excellent way of capturing the essence of daily experiences in a simple format. Each book covers 5 years of daily content and substance. It provides a way of capturing what is import to each of us, whether in ‘doing’ mode or ‘being’ mode. I use it for insights, wisdom and experiences as they occur and embarked on this process as a means of capturing the important aspects of life which I can pass on to my own children and grandchildren. Because each day consists of just several lines it has given me the discipline to include writing in this way as part of my ongoing ritual. If something really insightful or experiential occurs (and it has on many occasions), then I write a longer piece about that separately. This is now my 3rd line-a-day, originally a gift from my son.
