After the sudden death of his wife, successful Manhattan surgeon Andrew Brown (Treat Williams) uproots his family and medical practice to Everwood, Colorado, a small mountain town with sentimental connections to his dead wife. Dr. Brown's impulsive decision baffles those around him, most notably his sullen but sensitive teenage son, Ephram (Gregory Smith), who struggles to adjust to his new surroundings while falling for the town physician's troubled daughter, Amy Abbott (Emily VanCamp). Created by Greg Berlanti, writer for teen series DAWSON'S CREEK and YOUNG AMERICANS, Everwood is a warm family drama that explores the grieving process and the pangs of adolescence with intelligence, sensitivity, and a bucolic fish-out-of-water atmosphere reminiscent of the late great NORTHERN EXPOSURE. This box set includes all 23 episodes from the show's first season.

    Family values versus Christian values

    This series is well written and well done! It is very entertaining with great casting. When it comes to Christian values, it lags behind pretty much. While it mentions God and Jesus briefly, it gives Him no honor or very little. Get the impression was written by someone who does not really know God at all. While it does not exactly accept abortion, it does condone it at bottom line. The views on homosexuality are definitely pagan views. It paints vile Planned Parenthood as something good. These issues take up only a few episodes, however. Other than that, it is an excellent series. would give this series 5 stars if I were not a Christian. As it is, can still give it 4 since shows with good Christian values are pretty much nonexistent.

    My favorite show: Everwood!!!!!!

    Everwood is probably one of the best family shows of its time! The first season of this show deals with a father,Dr. Brown who is one of the best and high profile surgeons in New York, who has been absent from his kids lives for most of the time. When he looses his wife in a tragic car accident, he faces the problem of not having been there for his two kids, Delia who is eight years old and idolizes him, and, Ephram his fifteen year old son who is not ready to forgive his dad for not being there. The biggest curveball yet in their lives is when Dr. Brown decides to leave his job as surgeon and takes his kids to Everwood, Colorado. In this small town is where they are going to be facing their biggest challenges as they adapt to their new "home" and way of life. Great Acting, Great writing, ...

    love this show

    this show has it all drama, humor, and relatable cast. I watched this show when it first aired on the WB i was my self a 18 year old. this show brings back great memories. it look at the straned relationship between and very successful doctor and his teenage gifted son. the dynamic they have is wonderful nither back down and both think there right always. This small town brings them togeather in this first season, making you fall in love with the people and wanting more. i hope all four seasons come out soon.

    The idiots

    This show is very good, has lots of intrigue and it makes you think that everybody on this show are idiots. They are constantly doing foolish things but in the long run it is a very good movie.

    Everwood - First Season DVD Set - WB Network

    I watch the WB's Everwood about every week now, although I watched it only sporadically during the first season. This is a show where the actors have been allowed to develop their characters and only rarely descend into poorly written tripe. Treat Williams is able to do the best sustained work of his career, he had shown a lot of promise early in his acting career but just hadn't seemed to impress. Now that he plays Dr. Brown, the central character in this drama, he is able to underplay enough to let the other capable actors shine. This is a real 'treat', revisiting the characters when they are discovering themselves
