King of Kings ----- 'Nuff said. 12 of 10 stars
Oh where do I start? Jeffery Hunter is the quintessential Christ. He commands every scene. Those Shocking Blue eyes, and his gentleness. My FAVORITE movie about the life of Christ as I was growing up. ALL aspects of this film are TOP NOTCH !!! Sets, costumes, make-up, cinematography, Sound track, and of course ALL of the actors performances. Especially Mr. Hunter's. Love all of his work. BUT King of Kings and yes, I'll say it ..... Star Trek are my Favorites. May you watch this film and be Blessed !!!! Oh where do I start? Jeffery Hunter is the quintessential Christ. He commands every scene. A concise movie about the life of Jesus
Jeffrey Hunter does a fine job portraying Jesus. The story is presented through the eyes of a Roman official observing Jesus from the time he was a child through the crucifixion. Ironically, I wish the writers would have put more of Jesus into the film, instead of having other characters discuss him, I would like to have seen more of Jesus' messages and miracles. This movie is less detailed and much shorter than "Jesus of Nazareth", staying within the traditional 2 hour time frame for movies, but is an easier watch, and it was more satisfying than "The Greatest Story Ever Told". A good watch for the family with kids, but less impactful and 10 times less violent than The Passion of the Christ. Critics have frequently been critical of Jeffrey Hunter in this role, but he did an ... Jeffrey Hunter does a fine job portraying Jesus. My favorite of all the movies of the Christ. Jeffrey Hunter’s portrayal is perfect. When asked if he would take the starring role - his comment “ can I a sinner do this ? He died a short time after the movie was made - a probable result of a Chicago gangster prop explosion gone wrong . After this mishap - he was able with great difficulty to make a few more movies . His performance in King of Kings is flawless - James Thiele - Lake City ,Florida My favorite of all the movies of the Christ. Jeffrey Hunter’s portrayal is perfect. A Memorable Classic!
After getting tired of waiting a few years for this movie to stream, I was thrilled to see the movie I remember as a little girl was available on eBay! While many actors have portrayed Jesus Christ since then, some might argue this version is weak.. Regardless, for that time period this depiction still resonates with the little girl in me! Thus, making King of Kings worthy of five stars!

A fabulous Jeff Hunter movie
Again Jeffrey Hunter is wonderful. I am at present trying to collect as many Jeff Hunter movies as I can. This one was a steal. Much better than Greatest Story Ever Told. Jeffrey Hunter plays a humble and gentle Christ whereas Max Von Sydow played an arrogant and (no pun intended) "holier than thou" Christ. Absolutely a must have for both Jeffrey Hunter fans and fans of the biblical epics. This is Jeffrey Hunter at his best and a good cast. I am also glad that they brought the counter story of Barabbas into this. Something that you really need in any story of Jesus' life. This movie was more subtle and inferred Christs' divinity rather than shoved it in your face. Miracles were done, but with taste. The scenes where He is in the desert for 40 days and nights were very ... Again Jeffrey Hunter is wonderful. I am at present trying to collect as many Jeff Hunter movies as I can.
