This game sucks, but not in a bad way...
I've been an avid fan of World of Darkness for a good few years now and have been desperate to get my hands on a copy of Bloodlines, but when it was first released back in 2004, my computer wasn't up to the required spec standards, and so I simply had to go all wide eyed with anticipation for the day where I'd have a computer that could run the game. Well, now I do, and could I find a copy of the game in a store anywhere? No! Because the game has such a small, if dedicated fanbase, it's a rarity here in the uk, and so I turned here to Ebay, and I'm glad I did, now that I have the game, it's amazing! The storyline so far seems very in depth and the controls are easy to pick up whilst still retaining the detail of the Masquerade meritage. All the clans are ... The graphics seem a little blocky at times, but it runs smoothly enough, so it doesn't detract too much from the involvement and enjoyment of the game and also, I've had a few sound lags, but again, nothing that distracts. All in all, a very good game, with a few flaws here and there, but considering it is almost five years old now, I'll give it a well deserved 4 out of 5! Any fans of World of Darkness or Vampires in general should definately find a copy of this excellent game!

Great game, except for an unfortunate error
Neat game. I played it for a bit (I don't know exactly how long, but long enough to get a good handle on it). There aren't many vampire games out there, at least not that I have seen that are any good, but this game does vampire well. It has things like biting peoples' necks to refill a meter that allows usage of special abilities, multiple different types of vampires to play all with different specialties, as well as some pretty freaky areas to play in. This is an RPG, so you level up and get new abilities, as well as items found along the way (guns, melee objects). However, I had to stop playing the game since something went wrong with one of the game's meters where I couldn't see the amount on this meter anymore (one which let me know how much time was left in my invisibility mode). ... Vampire
Being an avid player of the Vampire: The Masquerade roleplaying game, I'd been wanting to play the pc game for awhile. I finally decided to purchase it on eBay when I couldn't find it in any local gaming stores. The storyline of the game is great. The progression of the game depends on the decisions your character makes. Interactions with the NPCs are often amusing and sometimes downright frightening. The music tracks are great, too. I've had a bit of a problem with the graphics, however. I've found a lot of stalling and skipping, an occassional crash and the loading time between areas sometimes takes a few minutes. All in all, it is a great game. Pro's & Con's
This game has a pretty good edge on it when it comes to graphics. This game comes with many pros and cons. You have tons of interaction, you can control who to kill and who to let live,which side your on, and your a dang vampire! Con side: few glitches in environment, not alot of vampire powers, and you can't talk with interactive characters much more than for tasks. I would recommend this game anytime, I beat it once, and plan to play it again and mingle with different characters. FORGET NEXT GEN GAMING, THIS IS WHERE IT'S AT: OLD SCHOOL
It's 2019, and still no Vampire game lives up to this... Back when I was in High School, I was never a real big fan of vampires much. It was my cousin who showed me some cool stuff at the time, like the manga Blood+, we use to play Vampire Night on PS2 in Middle School all the time. It was like Time Crisis, you know, back in the day when some games used Guncons ;) those were the days... Around 2010 was when my friends got me into the Elder Scrolls series and Fallout. Oblivion to this day holds a special place in my heart when it comes to RPG games, not only because I shared many experiences through it with my friends but because it is still a beautiful, unique game. However Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines for me is right next to Oblivion. I would not say behind, ahead, or tied but at ... It's 2019, and still no Vampire game lives up to this... However Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines for me is right next to Oblivion. I would not say behind, ahead, or tied but at the same level as it. I've played so many games from the gamecube, playstation 2, 3, 4, original XBox, 360, XOne and PC. I love all of them because I have chosen to go to a career in creating games so I appreciate all creations. Yet these two games are imprinted in my mind as if I never stopped playing them. Specifically in Bloodlines, the level design is not complex, yet it is extremely atmospheric. I've never been to Santa Monica, and the architecture of the game is not realistic. However the lighting, music, color and overall sense makes me feel as if I have been to such a place. The soundtrack itself is a whole other masterpiece, I listened to it so many times as a seperate being. The game was made in 2004, but has this real 90's way, where I feel like I am going back in a time machine everytime play it. Not in a bad way. The controls are easy, and the feel of your character's movement has weight and momentum to it that's just right. It doesn't feel stiff, or too much, it's just right. The combat is plain fun, plain stupid fun. No hard thinking to it, but it is not child's play either. With all of the different classes to choose from there are so many ways to fight, and go forward. The blood effects at to the impact of your attacks and make you feel like your actually foing some damage. Many games, especially most modern games for me are missing this important aspect for gameplay. I don't like feeling as though I'm hitting a rock, or bullet-sponge. Give me something lifelike and a bit over the top just to make it fun! THe stealth is for an old game, I'd say great. Though during 2004 I believe Splinter Cell was big around that time so stealth wasn;t as good but it;s not the main element of this game. The story, now personally I'd say the story and lore of the Masquerade Universe is ahead of it's time. FOr some it may be even better than Fallout or the Elder Scrolls. The characters are really interesting and all are unique and memorable. THere wasn't one character I disliked. The lore is very cool, and there are even some old 90's novels you can read if you get them on ebay or Amazon. The game goes so in depth about the underworld of the vampire society, and has some crazy monsters that would still give people the creeps. The story is trul classic and lives up to today;s standards. I must say first for anyone new to this series, this game would not have really made it without the work of Wesp5. When the game originally released in 2004, it was a broken mess from what I heard, and a few months after it;s release, Wesp took control of it and unofficially updated over the years. I think he still does a little work to this day on it. So if you buy this game, it is essential you use the unofficial patch for perfection and enjoy this masterpiece.
