Once one sees that one can actually make AND eat a Nanny Ogg Sheep Eyeball or three, one must then try NOT to laugh while sampling the next course (or coarse, depending upon one's reaction to the Table settings). CAUTION: Do NOT eat and read at the same time. One can always trust in the earthy wisdom of Good Olde Nanny Ogg to brighten and enlighten an otherwise listless lunch or strangely enhance a Tender Evening of Romance... The recipes actually work, but, should appearances count, then perhaps a Halloween Dinner would be a good starting place for using this particular cookbook. That way, The Rat on a Stick, along with the wiggling Strawberry Shamble, will fit right in and taste very good! Terry Pratchett (speaking for Nanny Ogg) gets away with another hysterical take on ... Sir Pratchett's ideas are screamingly illustrated by the brilliant Stephen Briggs: Brigg's rendition of Nanny Ogg's kitchen area and her work surface, his portrait of the great Lenard of Quirm working on his Famous Cheese Sandwich, as well as his four-part portrait of what a Wizard goes through whilst consuming dried frog balls, and so many more, are NOT to be missed. And Nanny's section on Etiquette is Very Important if one is to serve a proper dinner to a wide range of people, trolls, witches, friends, feegles, and even some posh guests. One never knows and one must prepare for any eventuality when entertaining guests. HUGELY fun to read and even more fun to play with the foods suggested by Sir Pratchett and his Nanny Ogg. Try, for example, a surprisingly easy to prepare Knuckle Sandwich... Very hearty, that. And easy on the budget, times being what they are....Fantastic illustrations provide perfect presentations of these Famous Dishes of Discworld and its inhabitants. Avid Pratchett readers will find clear references to a good many of the varied characters sprinkled throughout his over 45 books. And readers will also see how to make some of the delightful foods sampled by travelers wandering and venturing in and through his books. In a word, this book is HILARIOUS! (Oh, yes: DO try to avoid the Blowfish and any arsenic additives, to be on the safe side.)Some Gud eatin here, Nanny will tell ya. Save some for her; it don't pay to hog all o the good stuff fer yerselfs.

It serves up discworld
This book is amusing on it's own and a complement to the discworld cannon. I particularly like the interactions with the publisher. Note the actual recipes are very British and lean towards fish, mushrooms and curry.

Nanny Ogg: Most Practical Woman on the Panet, or Vixen?
This book is not for the faint of heart, but it is for those who want to laugh. Alot. Like all of Prachett's work it is clever and fun, with some satyre thrown in. Also, the recipies actually sound edible. I haven't tried one yet, but fully intent to in the near future. Good read, great pictures!

Excellent Book!
This book arrived in excellent condition. The drawings by Paul Kidby are beautiful and Pratchett's writing remains witty and up-to-date. I believe it is an absolute must-have for any collector and reader of the Discworld series.
