More fluff than stuff
I never watched it when it was originally aired but I really like the genre so I thought I would give it a try (quirky detective that solves the crime because he/she see's or interprets clues that others miss - I started with Columbo, really liked the Mentalist and watch both Sherlock Holmes and Elementary). Remembering Monk
I did not like the Monk series when it aired as a new show. Many years later I'm watching it with my teenage daughter who loves every episode. I am now a fan! I'm happy to find all episodes at such a great price. Over 91 hours commercial free. AWESOME!!!

Monk Is Excellent!
The best thing about Monk is the characters. I also like the fact there is no gore or violence like you see on other shows. I missed the show when it was on tv but I am enjoying this the humor is great, and the character Monk overcomes a lot of fears and that can be very beneficial to someone and an inspiration. You will be in the middle of "Who did it" and the variety of characters is good. If your looking for good entertainment the entire family can watch then I would recommend Monk. With great actors and plots that are pretty realistic I am glad I have it. If you want something funny to relax with then get a copy today.The best thing about Monk is the characters. Certainly One Of The Best Ever
I'll not speak of the quality of the DVD's here. What I will talk about is the characters and the writing that made this series. You have to love the character portrayals by the regular cast members of Monk, not to mention Monk himself. Even the guest actors that only appeared for one or a few episodes. It's the interweaving of the many little stories that are going on simultaneously in the main story. So the writing along with the character portrayals that together, make for this great series. I was sorry to see it come to an end. The characters that I had grown to love were gone, the stories I had grown to love were gone. But, I guess that's why they have reruns, so we can gradually part company with the characters and the great writing that intertwined the stories I loved to immerse ...
