À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Paul Kunkel, who toilet-trained his first cat while in college and who has continued to train his own and his friends' cats ever since, presents a foolproof, 21-Day-Program for teaching any litter-trained cat between the ages of 6 months and 10 years to use a toilet instead of a litter box. (Older cats can still be trained, but the process will probably take longer.) Requiring nothing more than magazines and/or newspapers, masking tape, heavy-duty plastic wrap, and a supply of fresh litter, the plan begins with you placing the box next to the toilet and, after gradually raising it to the height of the seat, ends with the cat--well, using it like any other member of the family. For life. Along the way, concerned owners learn why toilet-trained cats may be happier and healthier cats. In well-researched, fact-filled text, Kunkel traces the history and behavior of this barely domesticated animal and proves why the box is bad for cats; why many cats equate the smell of a litter box with danger; and why the fragrances, deodorants, dyes, and disinfectants found in most litters are detrimental to your pet's well-being.

  • Toilet training my kitty made easy!

I have not started this program yet, but it is do-able! The other products on the market, Litter-Kwitter and Universal seemed more complicated and Icky (having to clean those plastic orbs several times a day just grossed me out). After doing a lot of reading pros and cons about the steps I needed to take, well I just started scooping again. I can see myself being able to do this program, even though they are all pretty similar in the beginning. This book allows for one bathroom residences, where it is pretty simle to change from litter box to my toilet. Even though the author focused on a one cat household, I can imagine this for my three. One is 12 and the others are under 3 years. Maybe Jake won't get it but Daisy and Willa will. They already spend a lot of time in the bathroom, where ...

  • How to Toilet Train Your Cat by Paul Kunkel

I decided to buy this book because it looked like an interesting thing to try with my cat since I'm tired of smelling his litter box all the time in our small apartment. And I heard of other people potty training there cats success-fully. This book it explained it in great detail and by doing a little change every day so you'll have them trained in 21 days. It is a great book and it is of great success for a cat of any age!

  • Helpful, but time-consuming method

This method of training one's cat to use the toilet instead of a litter box is common-sense based. Good psychological explanations for doing everything. I think it could work with some cats, maybe many cats; but one needs a spare toilet to use exclusively for the cat for at least a month. so far, I haven't taken the time to try it. Clever concept that I will continue to consider for sometime when I will be home for a month!

  • Helpful toilet training tips

Excellent book on how to toilet train your cat in about 3 weeks. It is informative and insightful. Doesn't just tell you how to go about training but the reasons behind it that makes it work. It's so simple that even my six year old daughter was able to read the book, follow the directions and toilet train her cat. :-)

  • Time-consuming

I think it is worth a try; giving up toting litter home and cleaning the litter box would definitely be worth the try. It is time consuming and you have to commit time and patience to make it happen. I am willing to give it a try, although now I would want an automatic toilet flush since I do not have a toilet I can assign just to the cat.
