The feather pen looked like it was supposed to but I paid like $8 for a pen that is out of ink. Maybe it's refillable? The listing definitely specified it was used but I wish it had specified the pen was out of ink, or that it's refillable if it is. I just expected the pen to ba able to write when I bought it.

title is appropriately named for the coroner's book
I have purchased and read all of Cornwell's books and was anxious to read the latest one. I finished in a weekend, as usual to get to the end and see if the bad guys are all caught. This book didn't have what I normally consider a good detailed closure. While the guilty parties are mentioned, nothing is said about what happens to one of them, and lose ends are left about the final outcome of several others. Also, one of the scenerios was left open to obviously go into another book, which is fine. I didn't think this was one of her greatest or near the top for that matter. NOt only for what I previously mentioned as to the ending, but because I have become used to several cases going on at a time, and they were very limited in this book, and there was great, too much even, detail on ... I love reading about the current technologies and abilities of some agencies to obtain some of the most unobtainable information and details from a crime scene, however, in this book, I felt that alot of the details were too too much, and the usual extra probing, looking for clues, and putting two and two together just wasn't there. I do like to see some of the Scarpetta's personal life involved in these stories, and some more of that was added here, and looks like it will continue on in future books.

Kay Scarpetta's back in a new city with a new job and a new nemesis! It isn't long before she is jetting to Rome to investigate the horrible murder of a young tennis star. It seems trouble always follows her and so when she returns to Charleston she realizes that a rash of covert acts of sabotage are clearly meant to scare her out of town. There is also a string of baffling and gruesome murders that is sweeping Charleston and Kay has to figure out why so many names have been written in the "book of the dead,".... the morgue log. She has to find the answer soon or her own name may join the list. Another ... Kay Scarpetta's back in a new city with a new job and a new nemesis! This book will have you squirmming in your seat with fear since the killer is methodical and diabolical on what he is doing. Ms. Cornwell 's novel is well written with plenty of nail biting scenes. Scarpetta is back in true form.

Patricia Cornwell "Book Of The Dead"
In my opinion, this book was not as good as some of her other works. I have read every one of the scarpetta series and this was one that just didnt live up to what you would expect. It is definately worth reading due to one significant event in the life of Kay Scarpetta. Im not dissapointed in the book, but at the same time i was not overjoyed. The end left to many things in question.

I have read every book that Patricia Cornwell has written and loved every one of them. She writes in a way to keep you reading. This book is by far one of the best that I have read lately. I could not wait to get it. I really wish she could write more often. She does a good job explaining how pathologist uncover clues and how the police should work. Her involvement with interpol, FBI and various agencies including the coroners office add so much interest to her work. You can tell she really researched murder investigations before she ever started writing. Keep it up Patricia! She is the greatest!!!I have read every book that Patricia Cornwell has written and loved every one of them. She writes in a way to keep you reading.
