À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Adapted from the 1993 hit PC game, Doom 64 is a completely redesigned version that offers 32 unique levels (seven of which are hidden), one additional weapon and a new monster to fight: a translucent Imp called the Nightmare Imp.

Unlike previous versions of id's classic first-person shooter, Doom 64 features an advanced graphic engine with fog and mist effects, animated skies, anti-aliasing to smooth rough edges, texture-mapped surfaces to show intricate carvings, and creatures sporting a new rendered look. Fans will also note the absence of the main character's face along the bottom of the screen -- the view is completely unobstructed, aside from two small numbers signifying health and ammo.

Players will be able to fight fourteen types of enemies as they try to find a way out of the gothic environments: Zombieman, Shotgun Guy, Imp, Nightmare Imp, Bulldog Demon, Spectre, Lost Soul, Cacodemon, Hell Knight, Baron of Hell, Anachnotron, Pain Elemental, Mancubus and The Cyberdemon. The goal is the same as in previous installments: shoot anything standing in your way while you look for the keys needed to open locked doors.

The game also features crushing ceilings, spikes and toxic pools as well as elevators, portals and switches to activate. Fortunately for you, the hero has a few weapons to take care of the enemies populating each level. While players begin the game armed with a pistol, additional armaments are available, including a shotgun, double-barreled shotgun, dual chainsaw, chaingun, rocket launcher, plasma rifle, laser rifle and the BFG 9000.

Doom 64 supports either passwords or the optional Controller Pak accessory to continue progress. Controls can be fully customized as well, allowing players the choice of moving with the analog stick, C buttons or directional pad. Fight on one of four difficulty settings until you confront the Mother Demon!

  • The most unique Doom game in the series

If you enjoyed Doom 1 and 2, this one takes it into a very dark direction. When I first played it as a kid, I thought it was just going to be Doom 1 on the N64, but little did I know that this was an all new Doom made just for the Nintendo 64. I felt really spoiled since all my friends had just ports of the first two games while I had an all new one. All the maps were new, there was a new laser weapon, all the graphics were revamped and MUCH nicer than the old Dos Dooms. The game atmosphere was much spookier, I remember this game giving me nightmares as I hadn't really played a game like it. The look of the game is more reminiscent of Quake than Doom, but everything still FEELS like Doom. The only thing I hated was the way the game saved. It saved to a controller pack, but it didn't save ...

  • Doom 64 Review.

One of the Best FPS games for N64. It has a good 64 frames per second refresh rate, and very good graphics for N64 standars, even though it does not use expansion pak. Its spooky, and gory. Very few frames movements for enemies, but I think it suits the game better. Only complain is a dark pit in a stage were its ilogically hard to survive and climp up. And the last boss is to hard. No unlockable features, no look up, and no Randnet keyboard+mouse support. Its a buy, not a rent. Go fetch it now

  • Doom 64 One of the best N64 games. M- Mature Rated

DOOM 64 Ive played all the (official) Doom games & a few non official pc mods. For "single player This is the Best Console Doom game" and heres why, (1)The 30 levels are all exclusive. No rehash. (2)All the monsters with the exception of the final boss are original Doom Monsters. A few are redrawn but with nice horrific Doom Quality. (3)The guns with the exception of one "new gun" are remodelled versions of the classic Doom guns & look pretty stunning. (4)They used prerendered & lighted sprites for the monsters, this makes them look as good or better than ever for 2D sprites. (5)To make the levels this was the first use of what ended up being the N64 quake engine but the levels look much better than quake 64. (6)This game runs the highest amount of enemies on the screen at once for a ...

  • doom 64

this a a game i have been hunting down for years,i have always loved this game and most of the doom games as well. this one is fun on the rom for your computers, but it is little less awkard with n64 controller, the game play is much harder then i thought, much more levels then doom 1 or 2. th addition of new guns i nice and its just a good game to have for your n64 collection. now there are some bad things about this game, unlike doom 1 and 2 this game is dark.... like you cant see anything past your hands, so cheats are needed. the boss is too hard unless you spent time looking for 3 relics. there are not that many secret levels. witch is yes, sad. but if your a true doom fan this game is fun, more hardcore then the first two games. and the controller is little awkward, this game is ...

  • An Incredible Classic

I found this game used a while back and I have to say its the most incredibly creepy game i've ever played. The weapons are absolutely sweet ranging from the double bladed chainsaw to the devastating BFG9000 and the new weapon which I have to say I took a liking to almost instantly. The new weapon being a powerful laser cannon which can be powered up through secret means. The Doom Bible stated it as being called the Unmaker. The new monster models are, in my opinion more clever than those of the PC and generally make the monsters appear more ferocious and deadly. Some of my personal favorite models include the Baron of Hell, the Arachnotron, and the Cyberdemon to name a few. Overall, this game is a classing and if you consider yourself a Doom fan you owe it to yourself to track this one ...
