Product Information

UK developer Team17's signature series squirms onto Nintendo DS with the same 2D style and offbeat humor that has made the Worms strategy games an international success. The format remains identical to previous versions, as two teams of four worms alternate turns across an assortment of surreal landscapes. Each turn focuses on a single worm soldier, with the goal being to eliminate as much of the opposing team as possible before time expires. Twenty whimsical weapons and inventive items are available, including bazookas, exploding sheep, homing missiles, banana bombs, shotguns, jet packs, and more. Players will battle it out on randomly generated maps with six different themes, from jungle and space to the underworld and London. Multiplayer support is also available via hot seat, where players pass the DS to friends on their turns, or via local wireless connection.

    Worms: Open Warfare (Nintendo DS)

    As with Metroid, this is a game I bought for my little brother. My little brother has liked Worms since he first played that game, and found it to be a good option for multiplayer and vs. CPU matches, he specially liked the Challenge mode in this game due to its difficulty level, how easy it is to check the other worms' location with the mini-map and the wide variety of game scenarios. What he didn't like was the lack of an option to customize voices for his team, the lack of an create-a-scenario option and he feels there could have been more space for the use of the touch screen. Still, he likes the game for the fact its focused on gameplay, which is the most important thing on games, and proves that to be fun a game doesn't necesarilly need great graphics.

    Without even playing

    I am a new DS owner and have yet to play the DS personally or even Worms: Open Warfare. As a dedicated worms strategist I must reluctantly say this is NOTHING like gunbound nor is a "Cheap Immitation." In respect, worms has been around as far back as 1994 and still going strong. There have been several alternatives to this game designed for gameplay over the internet. Gunbound is one of them, and is free. However, the humor of Worms far surpasses any mockery of its genre.     GREAT GAME FOR AND WORMS FAN!

    I love these games going back all the way to playstation 1, great little remake deff worth playing with a bunch of friends. And on the DS in single card play with up to 4 people which is great! Using the touch screen is cool brings a little somthing different to the Worms world. But deff anyone who likes Worms games check it out its a lot of fun

    Worms Warfare for the Nintendo DS

    Graphics are ok, not as good as the big screen version. Is fun to play, but not as interactive with the pad keys. Plays more with touch screen, not quite as fun. If I could use pad keys would be better. Good deal at $10. I wouldn't spend more on it. Fun game for younger person. I was trying to buy the Worms 2, but it is still out my price zone. So I thought I would try version 1. Like I said is just ok. Younger person would like it more I think. Say 8 - 13.

    Worms DSI Game

    I love the game due to my son thinks it rocks a great babysiteer for 20 mins - 40m ins a day!!! Dislike he doesn't like to put the game down hard time to have other intrests. Bought this item cause my son thinks its the best game!!!
