In earlier Sims games, players interact with a household of virtual computer people. In The Sims 3, players interact with an entire neighborhood. Instead of playing each family discretely on its individual lot, players can now take their characters anywhere in town -- to a friend's house, out to a restaurant, to a favorite park, or even to work. No matter which Sim the player is currently following, however, all the characters in the neighborhood are active whenever the game is being played. Events that take place on the other side of town can have an effect on situations all across the neighborhood, just as the player's characters may influence the rest of the community with their actions (or inaction). Sims are now quick to pull out their mobile phones and keep one another informed, even if only about the latest gossip.<br><br>The Create-A-Sim system in the Sims 3 refines the powerful tools featured in the Sims 2. Players have much more finely graduated control over many physical aspects of the characters they create. For example, a slider allows a choice of any size and shape between rail-thin and very overweight, instead of offering only three set body types, and a second slider controls the character's muscularity. To a greater degree than the previous game's character editor, the new tools give players the power to create recognizable Sim versions of people they know (or would like to know). Sims personalities are now determined by up to five distinguishing traits, such as "hot headed," "conversationalist," "clumsy," "great cook," "slob," "good sense of humor," and even "neurotic" or "paranoid." Players can choose from more than 60 available traits when they create each new Sim. <br><br>As in earlier Sims games, players are free to make use of the built-in houses that come with the game, customize them however they see fit (and have the Simoleons to afford), or tear them down completely and build their own from scratch. The build mode offers players more customization as well, with a smaller grid from more precise placements, and the ability to rotate most objects to any angle. Stores, services, and places of work for the game's 12 career paths are all available throughout the neighborhood. Players can't enter these buildings to watch a favorite Sim at work, but they can follow him there, and then back home again when his shift is done. Console gamers get the added bonus of using Karma Powers to spur their Sim into action. The "Get Lucky" power, for example, may quickly lead to amorous situations, while the "Epic Fail" power is sure to cause embarrassing mishaps. Players must be cautious when using these powers, however, because they may result in unexpected and disastrous results.

Great installment, but lack of online interaction is very disappointing.
I have always been a fan of The Sims series, this game reminds me of why I've stuck with the games since the very beginning. The most customizable Sims game yet, especially with the option to download items and clothing made by other players while you're in-game, you can literally spend hours just creating your sim! The graphics are great, the game loads quickly, and I haven't had any problems with the online parts of the game. It's really a great installment to the series, but there are some things that I was disappointed with. I don't like the "Karma Powers" aspect, I think that it's way too complex, at least for someone like myself who just wants to jump in and control something's life without having to monitor a billion things at once (I'm not talking about the status of your sim; ... If you're looking for a game to play online with friends, this is not your game! I could look past all of the other things that I didn't like about the game if it did have the online multiplayer option but oh well. It's still a great game to kill hours with (literally, when you first put it in you will spend what seems like hours just reading all of the tutorials) and I'm excited to see what comes next for the series. :D

Fun Game
I've always been a big fan of the Sims Series (from 1,2,bustin out, and many more) And i still continue to find it a great game that's still just fun and hilarious to play! (with family or friends) Being able to create a lil sim of your own (rather its yourself or someone else) its fun to watch them grow,age,party, and help them reach their own goals. custom clothes, custom houses/mansions you can build/enlarge/shrink or whatever you want to your OWN image. Though, they seemed to have removed the co-op feature in Sims 3. (which kinda made me a bit disappointed...my family and i enjoy playing sims together and having fun) But it still remains a fun and interesting game even through single player. (though you can still swap and download user-made content online which i think is pretty ... Sims are running the show
If you have played the PC version of this game, then you already know how great this is.. Highly addictive and lots of fun.Putting this out on X-box did not hurt the game. The graphics are very sharp and clear. Game play is great for controller. Sims still have no real voice....Kinda strange.. The story is what you make it. When you play this for the first time its best you start with just one sim. Unlike older versions, you can follow sim into town or work and interact with business and people.Your sims will age and die, as long as you have age progression turned on. The whole story line is what you make it. House building tools that allow you to fully build houses or landscape. The only limitations to your building will be the money and imagination. No online play but they have created a sims exchange so you can use other peoples ideas and put it in your game or upload your own creations for others to marvel. Bound only by your imagination.The story creates itself or you can try to force it. This is one player only but you can control multiple sims. This game is highly addictive for a simple to play game. Its loaded with fun and challenge. Give this game an hour and it will consume days. This gets my Red Eyes, Two Sore Thumbs Award !!!!!!!

Good, but not Great~!
I own every Sim game ever made. Sims is simply a classic simulation game for anyone. But I'll admit when it came to 3, I was a tad bit disappointed. There is no co-op, nor is there an option where your joystick becomes the movement of the sim. I was impressed with the details of the characters, and the many options. And karma was a nice new option, too. But I just didnt feel the thrill of hard challenges, like leveling up in jobs or completing tasks for other sims in the games that I usually felt with the Sim series. Just felt like: I lived...and died. And thats all. I also completed all the challenges in two weeks...that says alot. Too easy? Perhaps.I own every Sim game ever made. Great game
The Sims is the best game ever made every since it first came out and it is still the best made game till this day on Xbox 360 ps4 and ps2 and more wouldn't get rid of my copy of the Sims 3 for anything
