Product Information

Brainiac 13 and Lex Luthor are fighting over the technology needed to take over the world in Infogrames' second Superman game since the publisher acquired the license in 2000. As the Man of Steel, players will battle Braniac 13's mechanical minions while flying through the air and running along the ground. Two separate combat engines were created for the game, requiring players to approach enemies differently depending on their location. Superman can pummel foes into submission using punches and kicks while on the ground, but once he ventures into the air, he'll be able to streak across the sky to smash into enemies or to use his special powers for long-range attacks. <br><br>The game features a total of 15 levels set across such far-flung locales as Metropolis, the Phantom Zone, Deep Space, and Warworld. Unlike previous games featuring the red-caped hero, Superman has command of his special abilities from the start of the Story Mode. Players will use x-ray vision, super strength, telescopic vision, super speed dodges, heat vision, and freeze breath to rescue hapless citizens, circumvent natural disasters, and stop the diabolical duo of Brainiac and Lex Luthor from terrorizing the planet. Other villains in the superhero's path include Metallo, Bizarro, Mongul, and the Cyborg. <br><br>Superman navigates his way through environments by using super hearing, represented by an on-screen indicator that points to the next objective or enemy like a compass. Each level offers a specific objective, from catching a villain trying to escape to destroying a specific number of robots, which can unlock special features if completed within the time limit. These bonus features include a concept art gallery, 3D model viewer, costume selection screen, free mode (players can fly around the city without worrying about missions), and a cinematic viewer showing the game's full-motion videos. Single Mission mode allows players to revisit any of the levels unlocked during the Story Mode.

Blu ray came with what looked like a library/rental copy disc as it had a sticker around it. That wasn’t listed in the description so I was quite disappointed. Also didn’t include the DVD disc. Ended up ordering a nicer copy elsewhere and threw this one out. I recommend asking to see photos of the disc before purchasing.

    Good game, but I've played better. Decent price for a fun and old Xbox game

    The game is fun, but can get very frustrating and repetitive at times. It can take a lot of trial-and-error to get through a mission. I'd recommend this to fans of Superman. The game is alright. It has its share of flaws, but if you can get by them, then you may have a good time with this. The game shipped rather quickly, which is great. And the value is good, too.

    Man of STEEL

    The Best Superman game to date. Gets a little repetitive and the graphics are dated. Still holds up as a great game for any Superman fan.

    Superman (xbox)

    Bought the game because Superman is a pimp! The game gives you the ability to lift cars, freeze enemies, fly,heat vision,x-ray & telescoping vision..etc. all in the name of the Man.Unfortunately it wasn't as challenging as my son thought it would be.He beat the game in one day.(Actually 2 of my sons did..ages 18 and 12)Missions are kind of repetitive. It was still pretty good though.They don't regret getting it.

    From a die-hard Superman fan.

    Reasonably good looking for an XBOX game. The gameplay and overall story depth leaves plenty to be desired. After I quickly beat the game, the only replay value was free roaming the city and punching the robots... (sigh). I'm still waiting for a Superman game to knock my socks off; still, relative to some other Superman title I've played, this is a solid effort.

    Good product. Worked perfectly.

    I like the look of the old style video games, and I saw a review on online about it. The game looked interesting and was only a few dollars, so I bought it.
