Product Information

Gamers hack, slash, and shoot their way through a world thrown into chaos by satellite disruption, or join friends for multiplayer mayhem in Devil's Third. The single-player campaign puts players in charge of Ivan, an imprisoned ex-mercenary who is freed to take down an elite group of former-Soviet operatives, who also happen to be his old comrades. The action blends third-person shooting with ninja-style melee attacks and bloody finishing moves. Multiplayer fans can create their own clan, customize and defend fortresses in Siege Mode, or take on off-the-wall challenges in Drill Mode.

    So bad, it's good

    This is a weird game. It tries to do cover based shooting as well as hack and slash. Honestly, it pulls it off! The lack of polish on it is palpable, though. Rough frame rates, dated assets, and slightly stiff gun play make this a package that's not easy to love at first glance, despite the really solid fundamentals. I actually highly recommend this for people who want something unique and can forgive the 'development hell' this game went through before Nintendo of all companies salvaged it!

    Fun, but flawed.

    Gameplay is a mix of Ninja Gaiden’s melee and Gears of Wars’ cover system. You can switch between guns and melee with ease to suit any situation, and auto-aiming ensures that locking on isn’t an issue. In a comical fashion, weaker enemies will have their heads pop into the air when shot. Melee combat is quite brutal with a decent variety of weapons; pipes, swords, and daggers, even a sledgehammer. On the ranged side you have snipers, shotguns, and automatics, and RPGs. Unfortunately, the game suffers from several problems, the worst of which is an inconsistent framerate. Also most of the guns sound the same and not particularly powerful – although their effect on the enemy is quite the opposite; strangely, in the enemy’s hands they sound much better.     It’s so bad it’s good

    To complete my Wii U collection I had to spend top dollar for this game. The game itself is not a good game compared to some amazing games on the Wii U, yet it’s a must have if you can find a copy. While I can’t recommend this game to all gamers, it is a rare game that will probably not be ported to any other system.

    Great and Unique Game!

    Under rated dont believe the bad reviews. The game is fun plain and simple. Their are no perfect games out there even in 2018. Its a cross between Ninja Gaiden and the Deadpool shooter/melee combat. The game is not perfect but definitely playable and very fun! Nintendo Wii U Exclusive.
