Product Information

In this modern update of the classic Steve McQueen western television series, Hauer plays Nick Randall, a former CIA man turned bounty hunter who becomes the bait in an FBI-CIA conspiracy and finds himself pursued by an international terrorist who pushes him to the limit of survival. It seems that Nick and the terrorist, Malak Al Rahim, are linked by the past, and the two embark on a deadly cat-and-mouse game that only one man can win. Of note, Hauer's character is mentioned as being the great-grandson of McQueen's character in the original series.

An Early Terror-Action Gem
A tightly directed, sleeper action thriller starring Rutger Hauer ("Blade Runner", "The Hitcher") and Gene Simmons (the bass player from seminal glam band KISS). Also featured are Robert Guillaume ("Benson") and Mel Harris ("Desperate Housewives") in her first film appearance. This is a follow-up to the television series of the same name starring Steve McQueen. Hauer delivers the goods with a standout performance in an anti-hero role, playing the son of the TV protagonist who--after a stint in the CIA--follows in his father's footsteps as a bounty hunter, squaring off against Simmon's diabolically portrayed Palestinian militant in this early exploitation of terrorism as fodder for the action genre. The solid plot, taut pacing and frequent cynical humor keep this film entertaining from ... Gene Simmons as "The Villain"!!
Gene Simmons is an awesome villian!! Rutger Hauer is great in his role too. Love His Band "KISS"!!!

Wanted Dead of Alive
I purchased this DVD because I was really impressed when I first saw this movie when it came out in 1987. This is one my faves, an oldie but goodie. A great cast and a lot of action. A bit of terrorism, but realistic. Rutger Hauer plays a great part as well as Robert Guillaume (from the sitcom, Benson). Gene Simmons, the leader of the terrorists did, I feel, a great job...did not know he could act without all that makeup! A pleasing surprise ending - one of the best.I purchased this DVD because I was really impressed when I first saw this movie when it came out in 1987. This is one my faves, an oldie but goodie. This movie has great cinematography like the scene where Rutger Hauer is walking with a flashlight in a tunnel beneath the city streets...Gene Simmons makes the perfect villain! All around a good film!
