Avis les plus pertinents

  • Excellent Book

This is a very informative book. I love how it explains everything about the rise and fall of the American Farm along with the movement for farming again. One thing of favorite import to me was the fact that this book does not "belittle" the small farmer with "one acre" and has definitive information for many styles and groups of farmers. This books breaks down the animal, feed requirements, raising and shelter requirements. An excellent book for those getting their feet wet, thinking about getting into farming or those that have started and want to refresh their information or those wanting to expand and needing more perspective.

  • Good book for small grass fed operation

Great book dealing primarily with grass fed livestock and holistic management. Have seen a lot of the principles applied on the Gene Sollock farm in Bedias, TX. Book shows how to utilize electric fencing and rotational grazing with different types of livestock to improve vegetation and minimize need for additional feed or medication.
