A Surprisingly GREAT Made-for-TV Movie
If you are like me, you probably have a somewhat discriminate palate when it comes to movies. Afterall, time is precious right? That is why I really do not like made for tv movies. To be honest, alot of them have a great story to tell but they end up having lousy actors or are just plain hoakey. This is certainly not the case for this movie which premiered on the Hallmark Channel. Out of sheer boredom, I ordered this movie from Netflix. I had already watched all the good movies in my "Que" and this was last to watch. I popped it into my DVD player and found that I really did not want to watch it, but since I had a recent knee surgery, there was very little I could do to keep myself entertained. Let me tell you.... after 10 minutes of watching the movie, I realized that I was actually crying right along with Martie who is the main character and focus of this movie. You see, Martie and her husband traveled from the East to homestead in the West. They had been on this journey for months and had finally arrived to the new place where they would homestead and call home. The place where they would eventually begin and raise their family. But fate had other plans. In a tragic accident, Martie's husband is killed and Martie is left to survive on her own with no skills or knowledge of this new frontier. You see, Martie lived in Boston and was well educated and pampered, and was not at all accustomed to "roughing it". This story continues on in such as fashion that you cannot help but be drawn into her new life and share the same emotions. When she is upset, you become upset. When she is happy and laughing, you are happy and laughing. I was also impressed at the remarkable acting skills of Missie who plays the daughter of a man that Martie marries in order to survive. Watch this movie which I highly recommend. It will not only warm your heart, but it will make you crave watching the following four movies in the series. Makes great entertainment for the whole family. I give it 2 thumbs up!

Very catching. It is true--love doesn't always come like fireworks in the sky, but softly, gently and unexpected.
It is a very good story. There is laughter and tears and the characters are interesting. It has a very good moral point in the story. The way the story will lead you to the next story in the series is very good. It's interesting to see what will happen in the next story in the series. The value is good. Money well spent. There should be more stories like this one. Michael Landon,Jr. follows in his Dad's footsteps of directing. That is great! Janette Oke is a very good writer. I look forward to more movies like "Love Comes Softly".It is a very good story. There is laughter and tears and the characters are interesting. It has a very good moral point in the story. The way the story will lead you to the next story in the series is very good. It's interesting to see what will happen in the next story in the series. The value is good. Money well spent. Good Story, Good Cast
The story of Marty: The beginning of the Love saga. Each chapter in the each film that briefs different stages of lives in the different timeline and characters. Its the dramatised romance stories in the times of the cowboy culture in the United States, but in the realistic approach. This film is a salute to the men and women of the 1880s in the west. Through hard work and relentless courage, they were able to survive the vicissitudes of nature. The film is a good one as it deals with a new theme in a very serious way. The theme being that people, who have lost their mates, marry at once, to provide for surviving children and to ease their loneliness. Each movie kicks off quite quickly with a tragic in the beginning. There are so many emotional moments. You might say sentimental. It ... The story of Marty: The beginning of the Love saga. Great love story!
This is just the best movie ever! Spoiler alert. Only Halmark could kill off a lead character so peacefully, so bloodlessly that we aren’t sure he’s dead for several minutes. Get this movie. Watch it with your loved one!
