    The Complete Book of Gourd Craft

    I bought this book a few weeks ago when I saw the cover telling me that it had 22 projects, 55 decorative techniques, and 300 inspirational designs. The pictures on the front cover are just a taste of what is inside. There are hundreds of pictures with most of them in beautiful color. The text gives the history of gourds, how they have been and are still being used in different world cultures, definition of gourds, names of the different types and shapes of gourds, how to cure and clean the exterior, safe ways to cut and clean the interior, many ways to ready gourds for the wonderful projects that are shown. Not only does it lists the tools for each projects, it has pictures showing the actual steps in making the projects. The projects range from toys, storage containers,bird ...

    Timely book. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for ideas on what to do with a gourd

    Excellent book. You can tell it's an old book because the editing care and attention to detail is there whereas now it seems like people just download internet articles that were written quickly and just bound them up in a book. This has wonderful examples and history into the gourd craft.

    A great book at an awesome price.

    I love the book. Only hope to get good a doing gourds. I was hoping it was something a beginner could make. It is beautifuly explained and I love that, and maybe not a beginners book it has great infor on getting gourds ready for painting and designing. I will treasure the info in the book and as time goes on try using it on my gourds.

    gourd based percussion

    while there is coverage of the shekere "shaker," there is no coverage of the Hawaiian Ipu He Ne, nor of gourds being used as resonators for the African balafon. There are probably other examples as well.
