Product Information

One of the PSP's standout titles makes its PS2 debut with the release of Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. The console version features the same levels as the ambitious handheld predecessor, so players will control agent extraordinaire Gabriel Logan through 28 missions spread across seven episodes. Logan is part of an international team of covert operatives ordered to perform surgical strikes on the deadliest threats to the United States. Combining stealth sequences with movie-style firefights, Dark Mirror has players crouching, jumping, crawling, climbing, and killing from a third-person perspective.<br><br>An arsenal of weapons is available to eliminate enemy combatants, from assault rifles and sub-machine guns to grenades and rocket launchers. Logan can also use night vision, infrared, and various other goggles to help him plan his attacks, or in some cases, his escape. As a bonus, each mission includes "hidden evidence" that unlocks content in the form of movies, concept art, and music. While most of the content between games is identical, the PS2 version features some notable changes: the controls support both analog sticks, some explicit dialogue and violence has been altered or edited out, and online multiplayer support has been removed.

    Syphon filter has resurrected the originals greatness

    The original Syphon Filter was an exceptional game, when released on PS1; however, each subsequent rendition was easily forgetable,- no doubt in part due to the cutting edge next-gen game release of Tom Clancey's Splinter Cell, with which Syphon Filter was no competion in terms of graphics, gadgetry or gameplay. Syphon Filters' latest release, Dark Mirror,- developed for the PSP was a welcome return to what made the original great,.. at least for play on the PSP. In spite of an inspired and captivating storyline and some good but not great gadgetry, the genre has already been taken to such levels on current generation hardware, that it is a hopeless and even pointless waste of time to take a direct port of a PSP game that can only be said to be 'good' on PSP (though it was awarded 2006 ...

    great game. challenging but not overly difficult. i dont all the technical gameplay tat some have, this one is a great balance of action and tactics

    not too challenging but not easy either. I like that this game doesn't have all the tactical crud like ghost recon. I want to just play. if you like splinter cell, you'll like this one too. graphics are great, the story is suspenseful. this character is bad ass!!

    Pretty Fun Game!

    Control system is a little hard to get used to but once you master it, this game delivers on the fun! I am a big fan of this series of games and I wanted to buy this one to complete my collection. Like I said earlier, my ONLY gripe is that the controls are completely different from the controls of the previous games so it takes some getting used to but that doesn't take too long to do. I recommend this to fans of the Syphon Filter series or just action game fans in general. -ZeppelinRocks89

    Great FPS action game, recommended for those who have the Syphon Filter series!!

    It's a FPS, action with story and my son just loves classic PS games so I give them the reviews I think he would. Autistism he's 22 and none verbal but Loves Play Station!!

    Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (Playstation 2)

    1.) Great price 2.) One one of the best shooter games in it's Series 3.) Everyone has to buy the most sophisticated and most intellegent shooter ever. What I liked about the game is that when your moving along with your partner, they automatically ask you for help with something they can't lift or need a boost. I also liked how when your partner needs to hide they find a great hiding spot so you won't blow your mission. What i love about the game is the arsenal of weapons you get to unlock and use against your enemies. The main reason why I purchased Dark Mirror because I watched as the Syphon Filter grow from PSone to the great game it is today. This is one videogaming franchise that is going to be to explode within the next few years. So untill next time "true believers" keep the gaming ...
