Fantastic, compelling read
The size of this book is amazing! I was afraid to start reading it that’s how large it is. But when I started reading I couldn’t put down. Fascinating and very entertaining. Ron Chernow is one heck of a good writer. It’s a great value also. 100% great book.

A big book about a man who sought justice
It is so exciting to find work that brings our American history to life. Chernow digs deep into Grant's life, reporting on a man, a human being, in all his strengths and weaknesses, and in language that is as easy to read as a novel. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Must read for Civil War historians.
I bought this as a Christmas gift. I have already read the book and found it to be excellent. Probably the best book on Grant other than his own memoirs, better in some respects.

Well written, in depth biography, over 900 pages, book is heavy, arm gets tired holding it while reading, may want to use table / desk.
