Clever Concept
Pretty cool idea to make these playable on a common DVD player by using the remote control. Box set including the 3 Don Bluth video games from the 80s is a perfect nostalgia piece for my video game room.

Dragon's Lair Stands The Test Of Time
I was 12 years old in 1983. Records and tapes were still the standard for your listening pleasure, the Atari 2600 was found in almost every home, or Intellevision, or both, and the CD player was still lightyears away. The big new thing was the "Laser Disc Player", which was supposed to play movies in perfect clairity. We were still using a Betamax at home (figures), and slip on Vans with checkerboard sides and Painters Caps with pins on them were "totally rad". In that year, arcades proliferated the suburban landscape. It truely was the "golden age" of the video game. Then rumors began to spread about an AWESOME new game found to the north and south of the cultural quagmire that is Fresno... A game that was... A cartoon! "No dude! A REAL cartoon! It even costs like FIFTY CENTS to play!" ... I was 12 years old in 1983. It even costs like FIFTY CENTS to play!" "50 cents? Bogus!" "No, dude! It's fee sure totally worth it! It even has a screen on top so people can watch you! It's THAT awesome!" Sure enough, it WAS that awesome. When Fresno finally got one, I was hooked. I spent probably twice what the Dragon had in gold playing that game. Then "Space Ace" and "Dragon's Lair II" as they followed. And I SWORE when I grew up, I would buy that $10,000.00 game first thing!" I am a "grown up" now with a 15 year old son myself. I doubt I'll ever own a cabinet version of "Dragon's Lair", but for my money, the 20th anniversay edition is even better. It has every level and then some. And it's NOT like riding a bike... I can't remember a damn move one. Plus, it's difficult to play using the DVD controller to play. The BONUS thing is I can watch the whole thing start to finish and not play it at all. I can focus in on the lush, vivid, beautiful animation of Don Bluth and enjoy the details of all 3 games without the pressure and panic of trying to memorize patterns or worry about someone cutting in front of me to play it. All 3 truely are not only beautifuly animated but enjoyable stories in their own right. Daphne is as hot as I remember, maybe moreso for the above mentioned reasons. It's also great to be able to share a favored part of my youth with my son. The extras include interviews and a game show direct from the 80s, which gave both of us a good laugh. I remain optimistic that one day Don Bluth will do the long awaited full length Dragon's Lair film. Hollywood is so hard up for ideas they've already ruined lots of my childhood memories with crappy films that flop... Mr. Bluth is the real deal. A good adventure cartoon by the man who started it can only do well. If you're a fan of Dragon's Lair, you'll do well to purchase this edition. For once, actualization meets expectation. If you're only familiar with Mr. Bluth's full length features or his work from "Xanadu", buy it for the young animation lover in your life. No CGI, no politicly correct fanfare and hype, this 3 disc set is fun to play or just watch. In short, you don't have to be an 80's kid to enjoy this brilliant, beautiful art. There are no moral lessons to take home. Just sit back and O.D. on nostalgic Brain Candy for around $20.00. It's money very well spent.

20 Year Anniversary Dragons Lair
I've loved this game from the early 80's, it kicked my butt back then and kicks my butt today but today its with a smile and no quarters, and that's a plus plus plus,

These are good memories. If you loved this games in the past, keep your memories fresh and alive with this compendium. The best of the best LASERDISC Games of the 80's are here in ONE single DVD. I remember the lines that you have wait to get your hands of this spectacular games. I can clearly remember, also, how much money I spent weekely for almost 4 months until I finished the original Dragon's Lair. I spent around $800.00 at that time (80's) due to my obsession as a kid to finish the game. Space Ace I never finished then, but when I got the chance, this time I crushed it... If you have never played this games before, I strongly suggest that you acquire one of these and own a piece of history of ARCADE GAMING WORLD !!! This compendium is a MUST HAVE !!!
