Defender PHOENIXM2
This system is complete without the internet connection, downloading any apps, having to sign up for service, or setting up a password account. It's exactly what's good for security. I keep my system plugged into a computer type battery backup unit so it won't lose its settings due to a power outage. The SD card storage is ideal but I wish the file format was mp4, wmn, or flv instead of asg. The cameras have spider web problems which triggers alerts and records these false alarms. Apparently this is an electronics problem and has gone away after some use in both cameras. The false alarms from wind blown plant leaves or moving shadows is a major problem; however the system still functions. The "sleep mode" is wonderful and detects and shows video of deliveries etc. The two way ... So far I have not had a problem with pairing the cameras. If one of my cameras is unplugged the system reports that it is "out of range." The owners manual is 70 typed pages. It's entertaining to read, however, the system is so easy to use the owner could probably set up and use the system without an owner's manual. Using the system is intuitive and the learning curve is fast. Because the SD storage chip is so easy to corrupt, it is advisable to turn off the control unit before inserting or removing the chip; however do not unplug the power cord as this will lose your settings. It is imperative to set the correct time and date asap. I like the screen size and video quality, however if large size and high video quality are desired there are probably other systems for that purpose.

The good and the bad
It has good qualities.. very easy to set up..monitor is very clear and crisp.although small. The fact you can take it to different places is great and you have 2 way communication which is handy but there is a delay which is difficult to talk over. If you have cellphones. Wifi computers.even microwaves, there can be interference and cause people to look like they are skipping down the street. The worst thing is recording. It either records continuously or not at all. Set up for a future schedule and go back to screen and its recording or go to the scheduled time and nothing is happening. Cant find the playback feature..know its there somewhere. Great, easy to use system!
This camera system worked great right out of the box! Pros...1 Great picture both day and night. Good sound both at the monitor and cameras. 2 Operator friendly menu. 3 Easy to record and set up record options. 4 Great price, especially for a wireless system. Cons...1 Camera mount adjusting ball doesn't tighten sufficiently to hold the camera in place.( I resolved this by placing a thin rubber piece behind the ball which allowed the thumb screw to tighten the mount sufficiently.) 2 The manual doesn't show what all the icons mean, making it a little confusing for some people, like myself. Good Quality
I tried one of the more inexpensive units that you can buy on Ebay, It was junk. The Defender sets up very easily, and works great. I have had no false triggers, and the image quality is very good. It also comes with nice long power cables, with the cheaper unit you had to use an extension cord. The only negative is that there is no playback capability. The best home security monitoring system!!!!!!
I have tested other systems for a lot more money and here is my conclusion........Not one negative. The positives ......sound/mic at monitor and camera and it works perfect at half volume....you can actually have a conversation the clarity and volume are that good!!!! Audio alarms.......every time motion is on you hear a noticeable beep that has volume control. Zoom that actually works. The clarity of the picture rivals 1080 pixel rate. Night vision is extremely good with the same zoom and audio functions. Single, double or quad screen settings depending number of cameras. Plug and play and that is all you have to do. Adjust the cameras for brightness and sensitivity very easily with the simple user friendly menu. You do not have to watch the screen all the time since the audible ...
