Amplified 1987 beat unchanged version
I purchased a new amplified bible 2015 edition to find out what some reviewers mentioned, wording that redefines the true meaning that is in the 1987 version. I started looking for an older 1987 version to replace my worn out one and found this one on eBay that was clean and had great binding. It it a great study bible and I highly recommend it! The 1987 amplified bible stays closest to the original Cambridge KJV bible. Get it, don’t waste your money on others. What you read and take in is important in understanding your Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit’s influence. An excellent choice for understanding the Word further
The amplified bible is translation all it's own. If the reader can read greek or hebrew they understand much more than if it was translated into english. In english there is one word for "love" in greek there are at least 3, philo for brotherly love, eros for the love between a husband and wife (also the root of our word erotic), and agape for Godly (i.e. perfect) love. The amplified seeks to add back into the text the bible meanings that would be automatically understood if the reader was reading the passage in the original tongue. Here's the difference: Psalm 23 NIV 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even ... The amplified bible is translation all it's own. You anoint my head with [a]oil; my [brimming] cup runs over. 6 Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place. Anything in brackets or parentheses is ALSO what the original language meant but was lost in our attempts to use one english word when the greek or hebrew actually translated to several english words. In a nutshell, short of learning the original tongues, this translation is the next best thing.

Georgia Edition on the Bible
It is a good Bible easy to understand English. I like the King James version for my go-to Bible but this one has good study quality.

Good Book at a Good Value
A used book with a few external cosmetic issues, but inside the pages look like they have hardly been touched. All in all, for the price, it was a very good value and should serve its purpose for many years to come

I love it as much as my KJV.
AMPC really opens up the Word using Hebrew or Greek meanings in its paraphrase to illuminate. Whether you prefer another version this is very useful and deserves a place in your library. The font is super comfortable, the printing is crisp and the creamy pages just a little wider than usual so when you have the book open it is very inviting, you just want to dive in and read it cover to cover.
