Product Information

Gamers help a young amnesiac explore underground caverns in this Switch version of the classic indie platformer Cave Story+. The hero wakes up in a dark cave and soon discovers Mimiga Village, where peaceful rabbit-like creatures known as Mimigas are being terrorized by a mad scientist. Players run, jump, fly, and shoot their way through Metroid-style side-scrolling levels filled with enemies, puzzles, and secrets in the hopes of uncovering the world's mysteries, defeating the mad scientist, and saving the Mimigas.

    Amazing Port of an Already Awesome Game!

    Great version of this game! I had previously played the WiiWare version and that was just the original Cave Story (which is an amazing game on its own). The + version of this game includes all of the Cave Story content with all of the bonus graphics and musics options and challenges. It is really cool to change the different graphics and music options (including the holiday overlays) to see all the little details the devs included. The physical version includes a manual and mini cd. One of biggest issues with the Wii version was playing using the Wiimote (my big hands would accidentally hit the triggers) so having this on Switch and access to play with a pro controller made this much more enjoyable. Overall great game and great port!!

    A classic title for a brand new console at an affordable price

    Cave Story+ Seems to be a great way to experience this classic indie game. Works both docked and in hand held mode, so you can play it on a big screen or on the go. You're getting the game itself, plus extra modes, wide screen support, different soundtracks to choose from, multiple save slots and so on. Not to mention the physical manual (which is a nice throwback to a different time when games used to include these) and a mini cd with the famitrack soundtrack, which is exclusive to this version of the game as far as I'm aware.

    Awesomeness

    What a great product! Loved the extras! Graphics are perfect for this classic game. Characters are the best. Weapons rock. Bonus game play options are fantastic. Great for kids and adults and 2 player mode is a nice addition. Awesome when you get the “best ending”. #quotelife

    10/10

    I usually don't like these Metrovania style games but this one peaked my interest when I saw someone reviewing it on YouTube. So I bought it and I'm glad I did. Fun gameplay, cute characters, and decent story. I've beaten it twice on Normal difficulty and started two more runs, one on Easy and one on Hard. Love this game.

    Good to have a classic on physical

    In this digital era, this type of games are hard to find them on retail. Nice game, with a nice story. Good replay value and different types of difficulty.
