Good Christian movie!
This movie is not for the unsaved. It was kind of hard to follow in parts for me. You see a Christian man going thru a lot of problems right in front of the public eye. You see him stand firm in his faith and convictions. You see those who are close to him push him to do what THEY perceive as 'best' for him-even if it goes against his moral code. It was great seeing him stand firm. It is a clean movie-no sex and no cussing. That part is great!! I really don't think anyone under the age of 18 will enjoy it -it is kind of slow in parts of the movie. It did not keep my husband's attention-due to the fact of him being a newbie to faith and most new christians don't really want to think of christians having just as many problems as the person who isn't. Plus there just was not that ... This movie is not for the unsaved. It was kind of hard to follow in parts for me. The Wager with Randy Travis
As usual Bill Myers hit one out of the park. I just watched the movie with Randy Travis as the lead character, and it was awesome! I would highly recommend either the book (I recommend anything by Bill Myers!) or the movie to anyone who questions their walk and the decisions they should make. I liked also the reference to John 15:1-3 regarding the vine and the branches, it was compelling. Go for it!As usual Bill Myers hit one out of the park. Hold Your Bets
I purchased this movie because I am a Randy Travis fan and was pleased that he sang a gospel song in it. The plot was interesting enough, but the movie lacked depth. This is largely a result of the acting (although Randy was convincing enough). Some of the characters really didn't seem to exhibit the emotional depth expected of their roles. I was particularly disappointed with Candace Cameron and the woman who played Michael Steel's wife. Excellent Christian Theme
Movie has excellent theme. He battles circumstances and his emotions while staying true to his convictions. Movie has a lesson for everyone if they watch and listen carefully. It was a little slow in a few areas which is why I gave it a good rating instead of an excellent one. I will be watching it again due to the theme. It shows clearly how God works in mysterious ways.
