Can't beat good Corning Ware! It last forever!
I was raised on corning ware and love it. I had a nice set that we lost in the Joplin, Missouri tornado on May 22, 2011. I am now just getting ready to get moved into our new home and wanted to purchase a few things we lost. This was in excellent condition and looked brand new. Corning ware last and last and that is why I purchased it and I like the pattern on it. It always is great as it goes from stop top to oven and microwave. Very versatile. Good product! I plan to purchase more of it to try and build up my collection again as we are truly starting over. I like to buy things like this from ebay because the prices are usually very good. Replaced a twin that had served my family for two generations.
I like cooking with Corning and needed to replace a broken 1½ quart casserole (not its failure, but mine) just like this one. It is especially useful warming up dishes for one or two people. The design is classic, as is the decoration. Better still, there's no plastic to leach into the food or guests.

One of the best small casserole dishes ever!
A person needs to be aware before shopping that this dish, the A-1 1/2-B is post-1968 and pre-early-90s Corning Ware. There is another lookalike from approx. 1964-68 that is almost exactly the same but the handles on the sides are narrower. Having both sizes, and being someone who wants both glass and plastic lids for everything, I can tell you that the older of the two (with the narrower handles) may have to go without a plastic lid unless you are more resourceful than I. Be that as it may, I love both of my 1.5-liter Corning Ware "original pyroceram" casserole dishes and how they can go from freezer to hot oven without fear of breakage. I mean, how cool is that?! And even more importantly, they are totally nontoxic and will not leech any toxins into your food. (The reason I like to have ... When using the glass pyrex lid in the oven I am careful not to exceed 350 degrees in cooking. The pyroceram of the Corning Ware can certainly handle much higher temperatures, but I have heard that the Pyrex lids are unstable and can be more susceptible to breakage over 365 degrees. I prefer cooking at 350 and under with just about any dish anyhow so this is not an issue for me. Although Corning Ware "original pyroceram" (and the "new pyroceram" I hear that Corning has started to make) are famous for not breaking even with sudden temperature changes from cold to hot and back to cold again, they can and DO break if you drop them on a tile floor, etc. Just good to know. I accidentally dropped one out of a cabinet onto linoleum and the 5-foot fall broke it. Did I replace it? You bet! I use my "extra" 1.5-liter casserole dish -- the one with no plastic lid -- also in lieu of a double boiler. I can put a little water in a 2-quart Corning Ware saucepan and the 1.5-liter dish fits over the edges just fine and has its own glass lid, so viola, a double boiler. (I got rid of my Visions glassware double boiler for fear of unexpected breakage as I have heard too many stories of people being hurt from unexpected Visions breakage.)

Excellent quality and condition for price for 1 1/2 QT Corning Ware with lid.
The seller advertised this 1 1/2 qt Corning Ware dish with lid in great condition and it is exactly as they described it. I am so very happy with it. Great size to bake with for us. I broke my previous one. I love my Corning Ware and couldn't bake or cook with out it.
