  • Hours of Entertainment

GTA San Andreas is the first Mature 17+ game that I've played. Once I got over the strong and sometimes violent language and drug use it became very entertaining and enjoyable on several levels. First of all, growing up in Los Angeles and currently living in San Francisco, the developers did a great job capturing the feel for both cities as well as Las Vegas. The voice acting and script for this extremely long game is probably the best I've ever seen in a PC video game. It's not only a "shoot em up" game but also includes several other smaller games within the main game. And it seems that you discover these smaller games on a daily basis. One of my favorite aspects to the game is the music and other radio shows you can enjoy when driving a vehicle, hip hop, old rock, hard rock, country, ...

  • The good and bad of gta san andreas

Since I was familiar with this game already, I'll just write about my initial experience. For a mentally mature adult, its a great game, with many aspects that could appeal to a wide range of gamers. From car races, chases and stunts, exploring land and sea for "items", Police vigilante, fireman, ambulance driver, flying a good variety of aircraft. These are all seperate from the actual game plot, which is a criminal gangster working his way through the ranks, gaining respect, taking back his "hood",building his body, and other activities of pride, outlaw, and vices. of which I do not indulge so much as the flying and stunts. • Heard a lot about it

I haven't loaded it yet. But my forum buddies (after dawn official graphics card and gaming thread) who have enthused so much about gta4, have also said the earlier san andreas was really good. They like gta4 for the better textures, but while I own that title, I already know without trying that my current cpu won't run it - the port from console to PC wasn't well done on gta4 - it puts a heavy load more on the cpu than on the graphics card - not a great port over from console. But the earlier san andreas MAY run on my pc - the specs want me to have a bit more main memory but I might give it shot before I do my new build - if I have any time left in the day after playing Left 4 Dead all the time now! LOL

  • Missions and activities abound. Installs and plays flawless on laptop Win 7

I bought this game as a gift for my husband who is a big fan of the GTA series. Personally, I prefer Vice City. Tommy Vercetti is awesome, as are the other characters in the game. However, personal preferences aside, my husband could not be more pleased. I thought Vice City had more missions and activities to complete than one person could handle, keeping my husband entertained for hours. However, I don't see him finishing San Andreas anytime soon. I like the fact that you can put user tracks on the game, just like VC. I don't like all the foul language, and in my opinion, way too many vulgar sexual references. Yes... it can get worse than VC. However, all personal opinions aside, the game installs beautifully on laptop using Win 7. My husband is happy, and in the end, that is the reason I ...

  • Best of the Three Modern GTA Games

I have GTA III, GTA VC, and GTA SA all for PC. I liked this one the best of all three. Technically, the graphics aren't all that great. They are updated however from GTA VC. Artistically, they're pretty great though, especially in Las Vegas. This is quite possibly the largest game ever made. The map is humongous. I'd imagine it would take about 30 minutes to travel the perimeter of the map in a car. Sometimes it is so big that it gets boring. The story mode is a lot of fun. There are tons of cool side games. There are also some RPG elements to the game. You can weight lift to build muscle, run on a treadmill to lose weight, swim to increase your lung capacity, use weapons to build your weapon skill, drive cars or bikes to increase your driving skill, etc. There are a lot of ...
