Another Victory For DiCaprio
Pounding action, pulse-quickening adventure and of-the-moment politics make "Blood Diamond," a great thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Set against the backdrop of the chaos and civil war that enveloped 1990s Sierra Leone, Blood Diamond is the story of Danny Archer (DiCaprio), an ex-mercenary from Zimbabwe, and Solomon Vandy (Hounsou), a Mende fisherman. Both men are African, but their histories and their circumstances are as different as any can be until their fates become joined in a common quest to recover a rare pink diamond. With the help of a plucky American journalist, Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly), the two men search for the diamond, which for Archer will ensure his escape from Africa and for Vandy will help him find his son, who has become a child soldier. Blood Diamond
I first watched this movie on regular dvd. I liked it so much that i got it on the blu-ray disc. The picture and sound are far more better. Everything about this movie is good. The acting is very well done. Not to mention the most important thing of all the history of this movie is very accurate. Pros: Solid acting, True facts, Nice action scenes, Educational Cons: Maybe a little long for some Overall i think this is a great movie that wakes people up to the fact of what's going on in the world. Blood shed over conflict diamonds is very real to this day. Not to mention that many countries still use child soldiers and they say that their is over 20,000 child soldiers being used in army's in some country's Africa, Columbia, Korea, Iraq to name some. Blood Diamond blu-ray 2007
An excellent movie even better in blu-ray with Leonardo Dicaprio in one of his best roles he plays a man dealing with the diamond trade in Africa who will do anything to smuggle diamonds out of the country.The blu-ray just enhances the many action sequences in this movie I highly recommend this.Djmon Honsu (I dont know if I spelled his name right)he is the man who Dicaprio helps to smuggle out a rare diamond at a risk to their lives.Jennifer Connely plays a reporter from the US doing an article about this.An excellent movie even better in blu-ray with Leonardo Dicaprio in one of his best roles he plays a man dealing with the diamond trade in Africa who will do anything to smuggle diamonds out of the country.The blu-ray just enhances the many action sequences in this movie I highly recommend this.Djmon Honsu (I dont know if I spelled his name right)he is the man who Dicaprio helps to smuggle out a rare diamond at a risk to their lives.Jennifer Connely plays a reporter from the US doing an article about this.

Great movie. Worth the purchase!
I would rate the overall movie an 8/10. The characters are believable, the cinematography is wonderful, and the plot keeps you entertained. The movie is a bit longer than your average film, but not overly drawn-out. I would rate the video quality a 8/10. The transfer to blu-ray is rather crisp. Great quality! I would rate the audio quality an 9/10. The PCM track sounds crystal clear, but only comes in 5.1 format (7.1 format and it would've been perfect). The surround speakers aren't engaged all that often aside from the occasional shoot-out, but the soundtrack pumping through all 5 speakers really draws you into the film. Great movie.
This is one of the few movies where I cry every time I watch it.... the chemistry between DiCaprio and Connelly is so powerful....may be my favorite movie of all time and that's why I finally bought this Blu-ray copy.
