  • Sleeper Cell (2006, First Season, DVD)

Okay, right upfront I'm going to admit I was first attracted to Sleeper Cell on Showtime because of Oded Fehr. I'll pay to watch that man read the newspaper. But once I tuned in, I was surprised with a suspenseful, at times graphically violent, storyline. The current world situation only makes the plot more compelling: seemingly ordinary folks are living among us, planning to kill many of us in a most gruesome manner. Sure, some of the characters seem to have been created just to ensure a well-rounded group of representative terrorists (we just had to have a cell member who's a pasty white guy with a mom that's a liberal college professor) but that's forgiven because of the miniseries' realism. Quite frankly, that's what makes it so scary. What is ...

  • Sleeper Cell - Held my attention more than other shows

I saw the first episode at a friends house and it grabbed my attention. Over the next couple of weeks he would tell me what was going on. This just peaked my interest so I had to buy the DVD set. Traveling alot usually limits the amount of quality TV and purchasing these DVDs kept me busy. For me it was so engaging that I watched the whole set in one very long evening (early morning). The series may give you a better insite into what our government may or may not be doing as far as Homeland Security is concerned. It will also give you an idea of the mindset of the enemy and how they think outside the box. The two hour special ending the series wraps it all up and gives you a real feeling for why the main character made the choices he did throughout the series. This is a first ...

  • Sleeper Cell is like a great book you can't put down

This Showtime series is not to be missed. In short it is about an FBI agent who secretly joins a terrorist group in order to report on their activities. I was on the edge of my seat as I watched each show, I kept thinking, when this hour is done, I'll stop watching - but couldn't put the remote down! I originally felt I did not want to watch anything about terrorism, but this is done so well, you get to know each character's family, their good & bad qualities, etc. There's lots of action but also plenty of drama. Acting is excellent - characters have already been up for best acting awards. Can't wait for the new season to begin. Trust me, you'll love it!

  • A Frightening Look at What Could be Out There!

I almost fell off the edge of my seat after watching the first episode! This is a frightening and exciting story that reminds you that we are still vulnerable to terrorism ... maybe we should concentrate a lot more on terrorist activities here than just overseas. Michael Ealey is stunning in his portrayal of a Muslim FBI undercover agent, and although I'm a man, I can't help but agree with pennypalamino about Oded Fehr. He is a good looking, eloquent, trust-inspiring cold blooded killer who is clearly the real star of this show. They say HBO has lost its edginess compared to Showtime ... and this show is a perfect example of why.

  • It is amazing Hollywood let this series get made!

If you are looking for the truth about terrorism in the United States, then this is the series for you. This series is so true to life and politically incorrect that it is amazing that Hollywood or any producer let it get made. Sleeper Cell illustrates so beautifully that terrorists can be anyone- from a blond haired, blue-eyed all american boy to the head of a security company. It portrays the thoughts, feelings and actions of the terrorists and those that are attempting to combat the terrorists wonderfully. Truly, I have never seen a better film or depiction of terrorist activity in the U.S. than this. EVERY SINGLE RED BLOODED AMERICAN needs to see this series, because fore-warned is fore-armed.
