The End of an Era
This DVD is a must for any hard rock fan. I remember one reviewer complaining this was a crappy DVD. That reviewer need to get his eyes and hearing checked. I bought this DVD as a learning tool for guitar playing. Doug Aldridge fills in on this DVD using Craig Goldy's gear. Goldy had an arm injury. So DIO seems to have some added fresh spark. Technically this is tuned down from the normal DIO pitch giving the sound an added hardness. Ronnie James Dio voice is still as we remember, hitting all the high register vocals. Drummer, Keyboardist, and Bassist spot on. This is a kick ass DVD for the DIO fans out there. It also serves as a testament of Ronnie James Dio's legacy. Rest In Peace RJD. Dive Into This!
If you are a fan of Dio; then you definitely want to get this. The video and audio are very good; much better than Evil or Divine. I am a Dio fan but; that is not why I bought this DVD. Doug Aldrich; the guitarist on this DVD is why I bought it. I have been a huge fan of his since his days in the band Lion. No Dio guitarist since Vivian Campbell has come close to playing this good! Ronnie is in great form; hitting most of the notes. Ex Quiet Riot, Whitesnake bassist Rudy Sarzo is a blast to watch and very competent on his instrument.The keyboardist is very good but; the drummer Simon Wright is a beast. The band played music from across Ronnies' career; Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Dio of course all represented. The band very tight; and sounded awesome! Outside of Ronnie; the two shining ... There are some good songs on this DVD-BUT-as a dedicated fan, Dio is definately aging.The new guitarist is alright but his chops and sound are not up to par with what I'm used to hearing out of a Dio band.Some songs like Gypsy Dio definitely can't hit the notes.The aging Rudy Sarzo does a halfway decent job.Vinny is not playing on drums but the new dude is pretty solid. Dio - Holy Diver dvd
I bought this, ´cause I liked the Holy diver cd. I have seen Dio live and I have seen Evil or divine dvd. This Holy Diver - live DVD was best Dio experience of all time ! Great songs, great show, great sound. U can´t go wrong, if you purchase this dvd.

ronnie james dio was such a great guy put on such a amazing live show, all the way from rainbow, black sabbath, elves,elf, heaven and hell, ronnie could sing it all, i got doo- wop records of ronnie dio and the prophets lol- he could sing anything, rip bro great live show, loved to have saw him
