    Great business camera

    Our police department uses the Sony Mavica series exclusively due to their simpliciy and rugged construction. Cops are not easy on equipment due to the nature of their work and these cameras have shown themselves capable of surviving when others quickly failed. The resolution of the MVC-FD92 allows sufficiently high quality images without execssively large file size which makes the required long term storage of the images realistic. The available floppy drive makes for a nice way to copy images and hand them to others who might want or need them but the memory stick is our storage medium of choice. My single criticism of this model comes from the location of the switch to select between memory stick and floppy drive. It is located on the right side of the LCD and is easily moved. Pretty ...

    Sony Mavica is a good camera to start with.

    I bought this camera because I used one before and liked it so much.It uses a floppy disk and memory card.You can store plenty of low resolution pics on one floppy or memory card.This is older tech so don't expect HD type pictures or video but if you like using older tech and don't mind using floppy disks this camera is a good place to start.It takes 5-15 second videos on a floppy disk.Not to big of a file but it's enough to email or send to a friend. You can even attach it to a tripod for steady picture taking.

    Best Camera around

    I absolutely love this camera! We bought it four years ago and it has never failed us. Oh occasionally I let the battery run down because I forget to plug it in to let it recharge. Then I have to wait a few hours before I can use it, but.. this camera for ease of use cannot be excelled. I especially like the zoom in feature that allows me to take closeups that I need of small items for eBay sales photowork. This camera can be tripod mounted easily for good stationary photo work. The discs are convenient to use. You an use a photo stick but I never have felt the need for it; I just use the floppies. The battery has not been changed in our camera since we got it.     Great Camera

    This was my first Digital Camera, it is GREAT, at a high resalution you get great pictures, the Cloppy drive was great because at the time these disk where cheap and you could just swap out when the disk got full. I bought a 128mb Mem stick which just improved everything, I like the idea of taking little 15 sec movie clips and you can store much more on the stick. I will always keep this camera, however I am looking for a camera with more mega pixals to keep up with the time. !!!!!!!!!!!Great Camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The Superb Sony Mavica FD92

    The Sony Mavica FD92 is not a new digital still camera, but it remains one of the best digitals ever manufactured. It takes great photos which can be stored to either a floppy or to a memory stick. In my view, digital cameras have gotten a lot smaller, but they have not gotten any better than this Sony. It is not small, but it is not heavy or bulky either. It has all the features most amateur photographers like myself usually want, like built-in flash, excellent playback, and capablitly for brief movies. This camera is not merely exellent. It is superior! You can spend a whole lot more on a digital camera, and you can buy one you can keep in your navel cavity, but you are not going to find a more usuable and enjoyable digital than the Mavica.
