A Most Underrated Doctor Who Story
Ribos is the first in the Key To Time adventures and Mary Tamm's first appearance as Romanadveratrelunder, so perhaps these contribute to why it is not noted for its excellent story with the outer space con artists, the over-zealous young warrior, even his loyal second-in-command and the soothsayer woman, as well as the old vagrant who believes in stellar travel. Offering one of the worst in rubber costume monsters, which really isn't a big feature in the overall story, this is probably what diminishes the story's memorability. Nevertheless, plot and performances abound in this work and are worthwhile. Had it not been for the monster, this episode may have been unique as one of the few boasting no supernatural special effects, save for other than the Tardis. Black Orchid would have this ... Very good replacement for a very damaged disc
Bought a box set with a copy of this that did work past the first 2 episodes this worked perfectly as a replacement

Doctor Who, Part of the Tom Baker Collection.

Great story
Fantastic classic Doctor Who story. Some less than perfect supporting actors but great story writing and an absolute must have for your collection.
